Warcraft: L'inizio

Domande frequenti

With the film's storyline leaving Warcraft open to possible sequels, Duncan Jones (the director and one of the writers) has expressed interest in a sequel to the film, likely to be adapted from (Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness (1995)), the second video game in the Warcraft franchise. On 18 June 2018, Jones tweeted that the chance of Warcraft getting a sequel "doesn't look good".

If you want movies that are related to the game, there are some animated series available on YouTube:

    • (Lords of War (2014)): Five-part animated series of shorts that preceded the " (World of Warcraft (2004)) to give some background to some of the major characters (Kargath, Grommash, Durotan, Kilrogg, and Maraad) in the expansion.

    • (World of Warcraft: Harbingers (2016)): Three-part animated series of shorts that precede the (World of Warcraft: Legion (2016)) to give some background to some of the major characters (Gul'dan, Khadgar, and Illidan) in the expansion.

    • (World of Warcraft: Warbringers (2018)): Three-part animated series of shorts that precede the (World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth (2018)) to give some background to some of the major characters (Proudmoore, Sylvanas Windrunner, and Queen Azshara) in the expansion.

    • Other short movies: (World of Warcraft: The Burdens of Shaohao (2013)), (World of Warcraft: Legion (2015)), (World of Warcraft: Lost Honor (2018)), (World of Warcraft: Old Soldier (2018)), (Warcraft III: Reforged (2018)), (World of Warcraft: Safe Haven (2019)) and (World of Warcraft: Shadowlands (2019)).

It is live-action cinematography with some computer-generated elements (i.e, the Orcs, certain Undead characters, Night Elves, goblins, dragons, Dreadlords, etc.) composited together, but it is generally referred to as the Warcraft Live Action Film.

The events of the Warcraft movie take place during the first orc invasion of Azeroth, roughly 20 years before the events of Reign of Chaos. At the current time, Prince Arthas wasn't even in his teens, and Illidan Stormrage is still locked up underground on the other side of the world.

The film begins in the Eastern Kingdom as featured in the First War with the battle between the Humans of the Kingdom of Stormwind and the Orc Clans of Draenor. During the Second War, the fight is still primarily between the Humans and Orcs; however, alliances are introduced with the Gnomes, Dwarves, Goblins, and Trolls. It wasn't until the Third War that the Humans and Orcs traveled across the seas to Kalimdor, with the Orcs wanting land of their own and the Humans needing to take refuge from their desecrated homeland. Once in Kalimdor, contact is made with the Night Elves and Tauren. The Undead make their first appearance during the Third War in the northern lands of the Eastern Kingdom. The Undead came into existence with both the plague and Arthas turning the Humans of Lordearon, among others, into The Scourge for his own army to assist the invading Burning Legion. Later, they break free from Arthas' hold to become The Forsaken and turn Lordaeron into their foothold. The Blood Elves (formerly the High Elves from the Second War) also don't appear until much later due to a falling out with the Alliance during the Third War.
