15 Best Movies Like Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Image
Many are quick to dismiss romantic comedies or "chick flicks." They may think they're too saccharine or formulaic, but 2008's "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" still proves you can put a fun twist on the genre.

The film opens with Peter (Jason Segel) getting dumped by his long-time girlfriend Sarah Marshall (Kristen Bell). To forget his troubles, he goes on a Hawaiian vacation, only to find Sarah there with a new beau, Aldous (Russell Brand) -- and while he still has feelings for Sarah, Peter also feels an attraction toward his hotel concierge, Rachel (Mila Kunis). It's not just a film about finding love, but it's also about recognizing what you had...

Jason Segel on What’s Coming for ‘Shrinking’ as Michael J. Fox and Jeff Daniels Join, Where to See His Dracula Puppets and the Thriller He Films Next
Image
“Shrinking” star Jason Segel remembers how much he was juggling in his 20s: The hit sitcom “How I Met Your Mother,” along with films like “Knocked Up,” “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and “The Muppets.”

“It was actually very overwhelming, and I was very tired,” he says. But he kept his eye on the prize by thinking about what Michael J. Fox pulled off in the 1980s while starring in “Family Ties.” “You would hear these stories about Michael J. Fox doing his show while he’s doing ‘Back to the Future’ and going from one set to another and sleeping in his trailer,” Segel says. “We used to talk about like, ‘Hey, if Michael J. Fox can do this, we can do this!'”

Cut to this upcoming Season 3 of “Shrinking,” which just wrapped production. and features Fox as a guest star. Segel says he isn’t in a lot of scenes with Fox,...

14 Sidekicks Who Became the Main Kick
Image
Every once in a while, a cynical, market research-fueled attempt to sell plushies succeeds beyond a film executive’s wildest dreams.

14 Mork

A few episodes after Fonzie literally jumped the shark, Happy Days proved that it wasn’t done throwing Hail Marys. They introduced Robin Williams as Mork from Ork, and had a whole Fonzie versus Mork battle that maybe was, maybe wasn’t a dream. This one appearance was so popular that Williams got his own spin-off, Mork & Mindy.

13 Frasier Crane

Not many people know this, but the smash hit Paramount+ series Frasier is actually a revival and sequel of a sitcom from the ‘90s by the same name. That 11-season behemoth all sprang out of a small character from Cheers who cropped up in the third season, joined the main cast two seasons later and then never left.

12 Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw

The Fast and Furious...

For Akiva Schaffer and His New ‘Naked Gun,’ Resurrecting the Theatrical Comedy Is No Joke
Image
In a phony public service announcement that ran in theaters before certain movies, Liam Neeson, star of the new “The Naked Gun,” addressed a concern that he cares deeply about: the plight of big screen comedies.

In a tone not dissimilar from Sarah McLachlan pleading for donations for abandoned animals, Neeson gravely said, “Every passing year, more comedies go unmade, unseen and unquoted.” Over a montage of clips from successful Paramount comedies, Neeson continued: “And for the price of one movie ticket, you can help rescue a comedy and in the process share a smile, a laugh and even the occasional groan with the people in your very own community. Right now there’s a comedy movie that needs you. Please, buy a ticket right now.”

The PSA was a joke, of course. But the dilemma is very real.

Over the course of the past few years, the big screen...

Star Wars actor Harrison Ford can finally check a key box off his resume
Image
When we think of beloved veteran actor Harrison Ford, we tend to think of him as a performer exclusive to film. Indeed, Ford has etched a rich tapestry across that medium in classics such as Indiana Jones, Blade Runner, and even a small role in Apocalypse Now. Not to mention his enduring legacy in a galaxy far, far away. So synonymous with his name that I don’t even need to mention the character. This is a Star Wars new site after all, folks!

Yet after more than 60 years of film credits, Ford has now become a bona fide television star with his comedy drama series Shrinking alongside Jason Segel. Ford plays therapist Paul Rhoades, who is struggling with Parkinson's disease and is colleagues with widowed Jimmy Laird, played by Segel.

The series has enjoyed critical acclaim and was recently renewed for a third season. Ford, in particular, has received...

Jason Segel Wanted Brett Goldstein in ‘Shrinking’ to Avoid One Thing That Plagued His Acting Career for Years
Image
Shrinking is Jason Segel’s brainchild, and when the casting for season 2 began, he insisted that Brett Goldstein play the role of Louis, the character responsible for Jimmy’s wife’s death. He recognised that Goldstein had the emotional range to deliver that role with precision and add to the depth of the series.

This intervention came from a place of personal experience. Segel had long been typecast as the lovable, funny friend and shows and movies, and he wanted Brett Goldstein to establish himself in different roles so that he doesn’t get typecast. He simply walked into the trailer and asked, “Why isn’t Brett doing this?“, and that changed the trajectory of the show.

Jason Segel Called Out A Problem He Wanted Brett Goldstein To Avoid In Shrinking

Jason Segel’s career has been anchored on iconic roles from How I Met Your Mother and Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

Image
The Studio was a big winner when the Emmy nominations were revealed yesterday, but now it's time for Seth Rogen's other Apple TV+ series to shine. Platonic, the comedy series that features Rogen and Rose Byrne as a pair of best buds, is returning for its second season next month, and a new trailer shows the duo back in action. The second season of Platonic premieres with two all-new episodes on August 6; new episodes will premiere weekly until the season finale airs on October 1.

In the new trailer, Sylvia (Byrne) and Will (Rogen) are the best of friends, which is making things weird between Will and his new fiancée, Jenna (Rachel Rosenbloom). Will Ferrell Comedy 'You're Cordially Invited' Hits Record High Prime Video Viewership
Image
Even when critics don't love a film, that doesn't mean the general audience will avoid it. There has long been a disconnect between critical reviews and the tastes of the viewing public, and it appears that the Reese Witherspoon and Will Ferrell comedy, You're Cordially Invited, is another example of this. Released by Amazon MGM Studios on Prime Video at the end of January, the film wasn't the cup of tea of most critics, but, as it turns out, it has become one of the biggest hits released by the streamer.

Per Deadline, You're Cordially Invited pulled in 50 million worldwide Prime Video viewers via data that was measured over 145 days. This makes the film rank among Amazon MGM Studios' top-three most-watched comedies of all time. During its premiere week, the film landed the No.1 spot on Nielsen's Movie chart with 827 million total minutes streamed and remained in the top ten for three weeks.

30 Years Later, Sigourney Weaver’s 76% Rotten Tomatoes VHS Blockbuster Is a Streaming Hit in America
Image
Audience viewing patterns have seemingly changed over the years, but one thing will always stay the same: everybody loves to curl up to an engrossing thriller at home. Recently, The Accountant 2 concluded its theatrical run with just over $100 million at the worldwide box office, but it exploded when it debuted on Prime Video. In fact, the movie's arrival on streaming also encouraged audiences to check out its predecessor, which witnessed a massive spike in interest as well. Another movie that's seeing a huge viewership spike, over on Netflix, is the 1995 thriller Copycat.

Starring Sigourney Weaver and Holly Hunter as a psychologist and a detective who join hands to track down a serial killer, the movie debuted to moderate box office success and mostly positive reviews. Copycat grossed around $80 million worldwide against a reported budget of $27 million. Going by today's standards, this might seem incredible. But Copycat was nowhere close...

4 Eerie Ways ‘Get Him to the Greek’ Predicted Testimony Revelations at the Diddy Trial
Image
As the trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs has been unfolding over the past six weeks in a lower Manhattan federal courtroom, testimony from his former staff members and girlfriends has revealed a great deal about the hip-hop icon and business mogul, whose alleged dark life behind closed doors was not apparent amid the razzle-dazzle of his larger-than-life public persona. The ambitious and flashy pop culture fixture was a kingmaker in the rap game and pop world, and later expanded his career into fashion, television and spirits over the past 30 years. At a point, he became so recognizable that he was asked to parody himself in a major 2010 studio movie — the Judd Apatow-produced comedy, Get Him to the Greek. As testimony is pouring out at his trial, some viewers with the advantages of hindsight are pointing out that Combs’ biggest role may have revealed more of his personal life than was understood 17 years ago.

Harrison Ford Had Two Inappropriate Words After Watching A Classic Jason Segel Movie
Image
Harrison Ford has had a career unlike anyone else. If you look at just the impact of his roles in the "Star Wars" and "Indiana Jones" film series alone, that would be enough to make anyone a legend. Ford, however, was also able to build up an impressive filmography outside of that, although he went decades without working in television after appearing in the disastrous "Star Wars Holiday Special" in 1978. It seems that experience was so traumatizing for Ford that, outside of playing a minor role in "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles," he didn't really act on TV until the premiere of Taylor Sheridan's "Yellowstone" prequel show "1923" in 2022.

So, when the crew behind the celebrated Apple TV+ series "Shrinking" put Ford at the top of their list to play the role of a mentor figure to co-creator and star Jason Segel's grieving therapist, Segel and co-creators Bill Lawrence...

Ever rewatched a movie and spotted a familiar face for a second that you completely forgot or completely ignored because you hadn’t even noticed them earlier? Sometimes, even Hollywood’s A-listers pop up in roles so subtly or in a disguise that fans completely forget they were there, especially when so much is happening on the screen. Let’s take a look at some of these cameos that people almost forgot over the years.

Russell Brand Outtakes From 2011 Comedy 'Arthur' Reportedly Offered as Evidence in Sexual Assault Case
Image
Warner Bros. Discovery has reportedly agreed to provide outtakes from Russell Brand's 2011 Arthur as evidence in his sexual assault case. According to The Times, the company's attorney, Patrick Lamparello, appeared in front of the New York Supreme Court last week and said the company had "some hours of video outtake footage... four or five hours, it could be more, around eight." This development in the US case coincides with Brand facing a criminal investigation in the United Kingdom, where he was charged on April 4, 2025, by the Metropolitan Police in London with multiple sexual offenses allegedly occurring between 1999 and 2005 involving four women.

Brand's UK investigation charges include rape, indecent assault, oral rape, and two counts of sexual assault. UK police began their investigation in 2023 following several complaints. Brand has publicly denied all the allegations: in a short video posted on his Instagram, Brand thanked his fans for their messages and asserted his relationships were consensual.

Every South Park Episode Written by Bill Hader, Ranked
Image
Bill Hader continues to have a flourishing career after his most famous gig as a regular cast member on SNL. He impressed the audiences with shows like Barry and Documentary Now!. However, many fans don’t immediately connect him to South Park, the long-running Comedy Central satirical show. Hader joined the writing room of the series several times.

Fans who have seen the documentary 6 Days to Air: The Making of South Park would’ve learned that Hader was a producer on the series. Trey Parker and Matt Stone invited him to their small and insular writing staff on several episodes. It means that many of our favorite South Park episodes had the brilliance of Hader in them.

Bill Hader plays the titular character of Barry Berkman in Barry | Credits: HBO

Hader and Stone first met when the former was filming Forgetting Sarah Marshall in LA. They struck up a friendship at that time,...

Russell Brand Responds To Rape & Sexual Assault Charges: “The Law Has Become A Weapon”
Image
Russell Brand has said he is “incredibly grateful” that his day in court is coming after being charged with rape and sexual assault by UK authorities.

“I’ve never engaged in non-consensual activity. I pray that you can see that by looking in my eyes,” he told his social media followers on Friday in a short video while wearing a straw hat.

It follows London’s Metropolitan Police charging Brand with one count of rape, one count of indecent assault, one count of oral rape, and two counts of sexual assault. The charges relate to four separate women between 1999 and 2005. He has been summoned to Westminster Magistrates’ Court on May 2.

He has consistently denied wrongdoing, describing the original sexual assault allegations as “baroque attacks...

Russell Brand has been charged with rape, indecent assault and sexual assault by London’s Metropolitan Police, with the comedian and TV host saying he is “incredibly grateful” to be able to defend the charges in court.

The police said this afternoon that Brand has been charged with one count of rape, one count of indecent assault, one count of oral rape and two counts of sexual assault after detectives started investigating 18 months back.

Walton Goggins Went Full-Frontal On HBO, And This Is A Bigger Victory Than You Realize
Image
"The Righteous Gemstones" is one of the best comedies in HBO history: a "Succession"-like story about a family of infamous televangelists that explores themes of religion, corruption, greed, deviance, and propaganda. It's also the show that very well may be single-handedly evening the bare scales in terms of displaying full-frontal male nudity. There have been plenty of discussions this year surrounding the moments of male nudity on season 3 of "The White Lotus," but it's one thing to catch Patrick Schwarzenegger in the nude for a brief moment or flash a bit of Jason Isaacs' stunt hog before jolting the camera away to capture the shocked reactions of the other characters in the room — it's another thing entirely to feature a cold-open where Walton Goggins' second nude body double waterskis wearing nothing but a life jacket, boink swatter flapping in the wind.

Full-frontal male nudity is nothing new for "The Righteous Gemstones.

The 2025 SAG Awards Put Community First, the Congratulations Second
Image
It’s always refreshing when a show learns from its own mistakes. While 2024’s SAG Awards ceremony was a mishmash of tonally dissonant scripting and segments in the show’s first year on Netflix, 2025’s SAG Awards showed a marked improvement rooted in what makes the Screen Actors Guild tick.

The ceremony opened with a pre-taped segment featuring “Hacks” — basically bonus “Hacks” for everyone missing the show since its spring 2024 premiere. Right away this worked better than the kind of opening that arbitrarily forces film and TV crossovers, instead focusing on a show that is about the industry, and a character with a successful performance career, Deborah Vance (Jean Smart).

Like the rest of Hollywood’s awards season since the Golden Globes, the SAG Awards carried the emotional weight of January’s Los Angeles wildfires, from videos dedicated to L.A. on film and the SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s aid for members in need,...

SAG Awards Features Reunions Galore — From ‘New Girl’ & ‘Gossip Girl’ To ‘The X Files’
Image
The SAG Awards, which was livestreaming tonight on Netflix from Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium, paid tribute to actor’s roots in everything from soap operas to commercials to Law & Order. It also spotlighted reunions galore, including for series New Girl, Gossip Girl, The X Files and The Good Place (a la Challengers), as well as Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

The fete kicked off with a surprise reunion between host Kristen Bell and The Good Place co-stars Ted Danson and William Jackson Harper, who paid homage to the steamy triumvirate in Luca Guadagnino’s tennis drama Challengers.

Later in the evening, Bell was spotted at the bar alongside former Forgetting Sarah Marshall co-star Jason Segel. The two paid a winking homage to the movie’s breakup scene, in which Segel gets dumped by Bell’s TV starlet character while fully nude. “It doesn’t really have the same effect with the towel over your pants,...

Kristen Bell Opens SAG Awards by Singing a Parody of “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” to Honor Actors
Image
Kristen Bell returned as host of the SAG Awards on Sunday and opened her monologue with a song.

Bell addressed the audience with a tribute that honored the creatives in the room who shared the same dream — to become an actor. “I just want to say everyone in this room, and I do mean everyone, including the camera operators on the side over here and over here, the writers backstage, the director in the booth and all of the actors in their seats. Everyone started out as a kid in ‘Somewhere, comma, Earth,’ going to bed and waking up every morning thinking, ‘It’s going to be me,'” she said. “So yes, Justin Timberlake owes us all a piece of that song. Look for my email petition.”

Bell then explained how the night was “to honor the actor’s journey” before breaking out into singing: “And it leads you to the question,...

Russell Brand Shuts Down Mental Health And Addiction Charity Following Sexual Assault Allegations
Image
Russell Brand has shut down his addiction and mental health charity, UK media revealed yesterday.

The Sun newspaper reports that the national Charity Commission was told back in September 2024 that the comedian turned online guru’s Stay Free Foundation “no longer operates,” and was removed from the official register of charities last month.

Brand founded the charity following his own recovery from heroin addiction in 2003. He was a frequent advocate for health services to provide more support for addicts, and in 2013 made a documentary about the subject for the BBC.

The move follows a 2023 investigation jointly between Channel 4’s Dispatches programme and The Sunday Times newspaper, in which four women accused him of sexual assault between 2006 and 2013. Brand denies all allegations against him, saying he is the victim of an establishment smear campaign. He recently moved to the US from his home in the UK.

Deadline previously reported that...

The Muppets' Fans Want a New Show or Movie Following Super Bowl Commercial
Image
One of the most popular Super Bowl Lix commercials featured The Muppets in an ad for Booking.com. Despite airing late in the fourth quarter when the game was already decided, the commercial had fans talking and the consensus was, the beloved franchise needs to return, and it needs to be done right.

As with many Super Bowl Lix commercials, the one featuring The Muppets debuted about nine to ten days before the big game. As of this writing, it has garnered 93 million views and there is an overall feeling of nostalgia attached to seeing Jim Henson's famous creations again, even if it's a 30-second commercial for a travel booking website.

One fan said it best on X, formerly Twitter (via ComicBook):

"The Muppets doing a Super Bowl ad and yet Still no news of a new Muppets film in the works [is where we have] gone wrong as a nation."

While another made an interesting point,...

Jason Segel is best known for his role as the adorable boyfriend Marshall Eriksen in the sitcom How I Met Your Mother. While he has been a household name because of the show, he finally got his feature film breakthrough with the comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall (last name not related to Himym). He also wrote the script for the film.

One of the most iconic scenes in the comedy is his fully frontal n*de scene at the beginning of the film. Segel’s scene reportedly caught the attention of actor Harrison Ford when he was offered the role in Shrinking. Ford mentioned that he even sent Segel a note after watching his n*de scene in the film.

Will Ferrell and Zac Efron Starring in New Comedy From 'You're Cordially Invited' Director
Image
Will Ferrell had already notched his next starring role for Amazon MGM Studios way before the poor reviews for his latest flick, You’re Cordially Invited, hit the internet. However, Zac Efron has now been cast in that same project. The Iron Claw and High School Musical actor will team up with Ferrell for the upcoming movie, Judgement Day, which was originally announced back in November 2024. Believe it or not, this will mark the first time that the Hollywood heavyweights have ever worked together.

The comedy is slated to be directed by none other than Nicholas Stoller. Stoller, who just wrote and helmed the lackluster You’re Cordially Invited, also starring Reese Witherspoon, will reunite with not only Ferrell, but Efron, too. Stoller and Efron famously collaborated on the must-see Neighbors (2014) and its less impressive 2016 sequel, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising. Check out the synopsis for the upcoming venture below (per Deadline):...
