Every time I visit my grandma in Germany (about once a year), we will watch "Bauer Sucht Frau". We love seeing different farming lifestyles and the growing affection between the men and women (and sometimes woman/woman and Man/man). This show is very progressive with the dating world.
Yes there are a few farmers that are kinda disgusting looking (in my opinion) and a lot of the love interests know almost nothing about the crop or animals, but it is nice to see the ones that love the work as much as they love the farmer and are willing to get their hands dirty.
I'll honestly say that I wish I could find out how to be a farmer seeker on the show, as my lifelong dream has been to have land and horses (either on my own or with my future partner).
For those that say this show is disgusting and the people are monsters have not truly seen "Bauer sucht Frau" or don't understand the German language / lifestyle. Yes the show could be scripted, but the relationships formed are not. In the end of an episode if one party doesn't like the other (Farmer can reject and the love interest can reject), I believe that is scripted (as they don't have hard feelings after and are very accepting of the others decision). Most of the time at least 2 of the three Farmers will find their love.
