Informative

This is another in the "Engineering..." series that also includes one about Rome. The film makers have lots of re-enactments that are amazing in their location shots, costumes and the numbers of people they employ. It's movie quality. And they have lots of shots of the current locations for the many sites that are discussed. More than anything else, they discuss the engineering challenges in building the Egyptian empire starting about 5,000 years ago. It's educational and entertaining. Perhaps a little more on the technical side would have made it even more educational.

During this episode, the narrator states that Menes, the first King/Pharaoh that united upper and lower Egypt died while in a hunting party and was mauled by a hippopotamus. In truth,we don't know how he died. Stating that the king died by being "mauled by a hippopotamus" is simply the way that Egyptians described that the king has died, and has nothing to do with the way that he died.
