In his 2004 memoir "Gasping for Airtime: Two Years in the Trenches of Saturday Night Live", Jay Mohr reveals that the "Christopher Walken's Celebrity Psychic Friends Network" sketch was suggested and co-written by Rob Schneider after Mohr did an impression of a scene between Walken and Dennis Hopper in Una vita al massimo (1993). It was originally scheduled to be the last sketch on the previous show, with Shannen Doherty playing Sean Young in a catsuit. But according to Jay, Doherty didn't want to mock Young and the sketch was shelved until this installment (with the part of Sean Young written out).
