The Watchers

1. Peter Hudson is probably a very interesting person to know. He was a scholar and teacher before becoming an actor. He is obviously a great actor because he was able to create the most despicable character in the Highlander TV series, the character of rogue Watcher James Horton. Horton made it his mission to kill immortals, a fete made more easy because immortals cannot feel the approach of these mortal Watchers. Also these Watchers show no regard for rules of immortals such as no violence on Holy Ground. 2. So why do they hate immortals? I think the answer is simple. They are jealous of immortals simply because they are immortal. The watchers do not understand immortals but secretly wish that they too could somehow attain immortality, but they know that will never happen.

This episode was all over the place. Joe Dawson is a good guy, now an ally of Duncan, but his best friend Joe Horton is evil. It would have been better if this episode had been two episodes. One just about Dawson and the good Watchers, and the other about Horton and the evil Watchers.

Joe Dawson's part of the episode was pretty good, a solid beginning for the relationship with Duncan. Unfortunately, in the middle of it was Horton the evil watcher, who happens to be best friends with Dawson. So are they good or are they bad? Given the way this episode played out, if I were Duncan, I would have moved out of town again.

Which brings up the very needy, nagging, and annoying Tessa. Why does Duncan want somebody who is always in his business? For that matter, why is Richie in this show? He is easily the most obnoxious character in every episode where he speaks. I am always hoping somebody will kill off Richie, but all I can do is mute his scenes.
