The movie's predecessor White Noise was critically panned by critics but was a box office success. This sequel ironically was well received by critics but failed to recuperate at the box office.
(at around 22 mins) Abe's friend says, "That sure sounds like some kind of Captain Tight Pants bullshit to me." In the "Firefly" episode Shindig (2002), Kaylee refers to Mal (Nathan Fillion) as "Captain Tight Pants".
When Abe visits the house of the man who murdered his family, he comes across an article about a woman who stabbed a ferry captain. The woman, Mary Freeman, is the same woman Michael Keaton's character saves (and dies saving) at the end of White Noise.
Nathan Fillion and Katee Sackhoff's characters Abe and Sherry go to a bar named O'Malleys. This is the same bar that is often visited by the characters of Due ragazzi e una ragazza (1998), where Nathan Fillion plays Johnny Donnelly.
