Reviewers say 'How I Met Your Mother' is acclaimed for its unique storytelling and blend of comedy and heartfelt moments. The narrative structure and character development, especially Barney Stinson, are praised. The ensemble cast's chemistry and themes of friendship and love resonate. However, some criticize later seasons and the finale for not meeting earlier quality, though many still enjoy the series.

A father tells his teenagers the story of how he met their mother. However, Ted is not known for brevity, and this saga covers his entire love life from college to marriage. The sitcom "How I Met Your Mother" shows us a decade in the lives of five friends. Ted is an eternal romantic in search of The One, Barney tries to bed all the women in the world, Marshall is Ted's roommate, who has been in a relationship with Lily since college, and the fifth member of the gang is Robin, Ted's failed romance that turned into friendship.
The series is very similar to the cult "Friends" in almost all aspects, so much so that it could technically be characterized as plagiarism. But they are essentially very different. "How I Met Your Mother" has a different atmosphere, a different sense of humor, and more lifelike characters that are easier to identify with. Some moments are pure pathos, some quite philosophical, and many brought tears to my eyes from laughter. The first few seasons are a masterpiece of a sitcom, while later the series has its ups and downs, but at no point has it fallen so low that I even think about giving up. Only the grand finale in the last two episodes disappointed me a bit, because here the series completely changed its tone and went into waters that have nothing to do with the previous nine seasons, but they redeemed with a couple of nice plot twists.
All in all, for those who haven't seen it, I highly recommend it. I enjoyed it more than "Friends".

How I Met Your Mother is so worth watching! What great characters and amazing writing! This show is a Hit! Finally something to tune in to on Monday nights. Not since Friends have the characters on a sit com bonded like this. I love that there are 3 guys and 2 girls..The writing is fresh and in control and productive.....I particularly enjoy the Ted with the shirt episode - what a unique story line and all the characters just seem to work so well together. I love the added suspense of "who is Ted going to end up with". The character of Ted does an amazing job! He has such a cuteness and innocence about him that makes the whole premise of "How I Met Your Mother" really work and keeps the audience so tuned in to find out what is going to happen next! You have accumulated such a great staff of writers!!! Amazing new show! Our office is taking turns staging Monday night soirees to watch! This premise really works! Keep us the good work! Keep Monday night TV rolling along! Yeah!! Hilarious!
I've enjoyed the first few episodes of this post "Friends" comedy. It really captures some of the humorous albeit awkward situations that late twenty-somethings are finding themselves in these days.
Alyson Hannigan once again presents her hilarious, quirky sense of style and humor. Along with her boyfriend, Marshall, they are an excellent representation of the couple who are trying to figure out an identity in the "not still partying like college kids, but trying not to be all grown up" stage of life.
The lead character, Ted, provides great entertainment. Audiences will be drawn in by his sensitivity and likability. He's not desperate to get married, but merely ready to find the One, tired of game playing.
Overall, I think this is a half-hour well spent. The humor is edgy, unpredictable, and you will find yourself reminiscing about those first few years after you graduated from college and struggled to find yourself out in the "Real World."

How I Met Your Mother will go down as one of the better comedies of all-time (and rightfully so) but there's no doubt as to who's the best part of the show and that's Neil Patrick Harris (Barney)! He steals every scene that he's in and is funny in just about every episode. The entire main cast (Harris, Josh Radnor, Jason Segal, Cobie Smuthers and Alyson Hannigan) is great which makes this show so funny. The first season isn't as good so you may have to power through it out it's well worth it. Also, as most have already said...it has one of the worst finales to a show in the history of television! If for some reason you're one of the few people who haven't seen this yet then I highly recommend you do. It's almost impossible not to smile and have a good time during this show.
How I Met Your Mother is one of those comedies that you can watch anytime it's on tv or even binge watch it and it will always be funny. The standout of this show is the hilarious Neil Patrick Harris as Barney. Not saying the rest of the cast isn't funny, because they all are, it a weak link on the show but Patrick Harris will go down as one of the all-time great sitcom characters. This has everything you want in a good sitcom, every episode will make you laugh out loud. Just be warned though, the ending is awful. Google worst tv show endings ever and i guarantee you How I Met Your Mother is on it. But being a sitcom it doesn't really take away from the show overall. It's still worth watching if you want a laugh.
