Aamne Saamne Directed By Ashmin Samanta is An Action Crime Drama. Script is Well Written. Screenplay & Direction Work Well With The Script. Plot is Predictable But Entertaining. Editing is Fine. Action & Music is Good.

Gopi (Mithun Chakraborty) is a Villager Who Travels to Mumbai Looking For a Job. He is Approached By Some Men Who Mistaken Him For Johnny (also Mithun Chakraborty). Johnny is a Criminal who works for the underworld don Supremo (Kamal Kapoor) and a Stage Performer With Rita(Aarti Gupta). When He Meets his Lookalike, Johnny Decides To Use Him as a Fall Guy. Gopi is Trained into Becoming an accomplice to Johnny's Crimes. Meanwhile Gopi Meets Jyoti(Bindiya Goswami). She Goes Blind And Stays With Gopi. When The Police Discover Johnny Has Stolen Valuable Statues, Gopi is Blamed and Must Prove His Innocence.

Mithun Does Brilliant Job in Both The Characters. Bindiya Goswami Does Well. Dinesh Thakur & Arti Gupta Are OK.

Music is Good By R.D Burman. "Tu Main Ban Gaya" By Kishore Kumar & "Meri Aawaz Ke Doston" Are Better Tracks. Must Watch For Mithun Fans.

Aamne Samne review :

Mithun Chakraborty in double role. One is a dancer cum closet criminal while the other is a simpleton villager whom he hires for his sinister agenda. Ashim Samanta's directorial debut was not too bad for a one time watch. A couple of songs were good and Mithunda rocked as ever but he didnt have a bankable heroine for company here. Bindiya was unconvincing as the undercover cop while Aarti Gupta looked happy playing the gangsters moll. Overall, a fairly watchable film provided you dont expect a Don (1978).
