The movie is very gripping if you start to think from the perspective of protagonist, it shows about how a person can be vulnerable at it's lowest point of life and how the effects of the same can stay with them even if everything becomes right in their life. The cast was excellent, especially Sudesh and Madhoo. Every character played their best, nice direction and background music perfectly syncs with the frame. However, the comic thing could have been avoided, but in 1995 people would'nt liked the movie without it (but kirpan finding scene was funny). This movie shows the thin line lying between apparition and reality.
the question remains- who is mohini?the question remains who is shrikanth? the question remains what actually did happen after these two persons from different backgrounds, different believes and complicated identities unite?the question remains...
mohini is not only a film abt supernaturals,it mostly deals with the natural events and natural accidents which may happen to any day to any of us.how will u react when the handsome guy next door u liked encounters with a terrible accident and burnt his face?how will u react if someone tells u ur lover is not human?this film deals with all these possible accidents and their natural disastrous effects.
the film has very different meanings for different viewers.some may call it supernatural, some horror-but to me it will always remain as a very fresh and able attempt to explore the result of mental complications resulting due to unpredictable, but still very much possible, causes. the direction, story, script, acting(especially madhoo ),music-all are wonderful.anyone who has the ability to think deeply is sure to like the movie and at least will rate it 8.
and the question remains...the question remains what happens to shrikanths in our real society?what happens to mohinis in our real society? and most importantly, the question remains-how firm and real is the reality of our real society?

Disclaimer- This isn't any typical, exoteric bollywood masala movie.
Anybody who likes psychological thriller/horror will like it. The movie will leave you with many questions and it is one of those movies that leaves things to the viewers' interpretation. Who was the mysterious woman? Was she really a beautiful, doting wife or was she, behind that veneer of benevolence, a vampire as her husband suspected. The logical vs paranormal theme will continue to tease viewers right till the end.
Was she a figment of Srikanth's imagination emanating from his depressed mental state or was the world around him too immature to fathom the realities around Srikanth?
I liked the simple acting by both Berry and Madhu. A few songs are quite nice but i particularly loved the recurring, pleasantly haunting background track in some scenes. Plot is very simple. Srikanth is a handsome, chemistry professor. Life is great until he has an accident that leaves his face badly disfigured. His gf ditches him because he lost all his charm. People in general avoid him because he doesn't look "normal" and strangers can't stand his ugliness. Srikanth gets utterly depressed and becomes a recluse. He flings himself into researching about the occult. Devours books by the dozens to dive deeper into this subject that had always intrigued him. Srikanth's monotonous existence is interrupted when he meets this beautiful but mysterious girl, Ragini. He is immediately drawn to her because unlike others she doesn't judge him by his looks. They fall in love and get married. It's then that Srikanth gradually notices some strange things about his gorgeous new wife. Who is she?
The climax will leave you with questions galore. What exactly transpired between them? Did she truly love him? No matter what you choose to make of it, you will surely will find this love story poignant and bittersweet.
The thing I didn't like about the movie were the misplaced comic scenes that had no purpose and in fact took away from the otherwise dark tight plot.
