Kenny the Shark

I am absolutely elated to have rediscovered that show I once forgot; it's as if the heavens themselves have parted and bestowed upon me the ultimate treasure, because when I was a child I had once forgotten this shows name living my childhood and not being able to watch this how made me cry generally was the reason why I had my first panic attack I love this show. It makes me joyous some might say! I would leave my wife and our newborn baby just recently had to watch this show just once more I love this show so much it appears in my dreams Kenny. THAT SHARK KILLED MY FAMILY AND MADE ME HIDE IN A FRIDGE in my dream once as a child but that's ok! I will always forgive him, oh its time for me to watch.

I have seen "Kenny the Shark" a few times on the Discovery Kids Channel and it seems like a cute show. I like the idea of a girl owning a pet shark. It's original. The show is also very funny.

One of the episodes I saw was about fathers day and Kenny the shark kept ruining it for Kat's father. That was pretty funny. Another episode I saw was about Kenny the shark having a party with a lot of other sharks in Kat's house. I also like the scene change of a live shark floating across the scene. That's cool.

Overall this show is cute and I suggest that everyone should watch it one day. I give this show 9/10 stars.

I LOVE this show. It's so good but I feel like it's been forgotten by the internet. :( Either way, I adore this show, and Kenny, as an autistic gal who's hyperfixated on sharks since the age of 5 -w- Also I adore the animation as well, really holds up well despite being from 2005 but nonetheless it is very nostalgic. The music and voice acting also deserve to be praised (especially Kenny's va, omg >w<) seeing as how well the characters interact with each other. If only I could have a pet tiger shark that could talk, oh well, one can dream no? Anyways, I rate this show a 10/10 and, parents, I would recommend letting the kiddos watch this as well (if they like sharks) seeing as how educational this can be for children to understand sharks better and be further aware that not all stereotypes about them are too. <3.

This show was part of my routine on Saturday mornings when I was a kid. And Willa's Widlife, which I did like, but Kenny the Shark was so much better. I'm guessing the characters live in California, because Kat's parents, the girl who takes care of Kenny, are socially conscious, organic food eating hippies. Well, her dad is. Her mom's style is more polished - she's a psychiatrist. She also has a super cute baby brother named Carl. I will admit, the premise is stupid, but it's actually interesting and hilarious. One day Kenny no longer wants to be a predator so he comes out of the ocean. People on the beach are terrified. He just goes on about his way, eventually meeting Kat, who loves sharks. It's her dream come true to take Kenny home. Her parents are not pleased, but they deal with Kenny's nonstop eating, teeth shedding, and breaking public property. Some of the things that happen in the show are quite ridiculous, even for a cartoon. Like the episode when, after everybody in the household is asleep, Kenny takes Kat partying at nightclubs and roller skating rinks. As a result, she gets extremely tired and starts falling asleep in school. She sneaks out of the house many nights, but yet her parents never notice??? Otherwise, I laugh really hard when I watch this. I'm surprised it only lasted for a couple of years.

There are some funny moments in this show, particularly the interaction between Kenny and the neighbor's dog, Marty. Overall the series is charming, informative and will address an issue (i.e. Kenny being jealous of the parrot Kat brought home) without being too preachy or condescending.

There is also an interesting cast of human characters on this show, too numerous to list here. I think Kat is so cute!

"Kenny" has been renewed for a second season; the new episodes started October 2, 2004. I hope it has a long enough run to warrant release on DVD.
