this does seem somewhat crass

I don't think this is quite as bad as some make out but compared to the original Blind Beast (1969) directed by Yasuzo Masumura this does seem somewhat crass. All the obsession, all the emotion and scary believability of the original is missing here. The whole 'tortured artist' theme is missing and the masseuse excuse at the start of the earlier film is brought in late in this one for exploitative reasons. Nevertheless, this is not without any value even if the 'shot on video' look can be dismaying. There is a large cast (of mixed acting ability!) and much more flesh on display here. I like the private detective (until his laboured and wretched denouement!) and there is some charm to the internal domestic detail and wonderful outdoor autumnal trees. Scraping the barrel a bit here though so lets just say interesting to compare and contrast with Masumura's very fine piece of cinema.

Could had actually been a decent movie had it got a budget to spend.

Having seen another Blind Beast movie "Môjû" I could can't off see and understand what this movie was trying to be and achieve and I'm actually sure that they could had pulled it off if they had gotten some more money to spend on this movie.

Thing about this movie now is that it's extremely dreadful looking. It looks at times like it got done by an amateur, who made a short movie for a local TV station or something. The visual look is sort of killing this movie, fore it's style would had been the most essential part to let the movie work out. The movie was lacking its artistic look that it required and that for instance the earlier mentioned "Môjû" did had.

Not only its look made this movie look like a cheap one but also its editing and directing that, to be honest, at times work out quite laughable. Guess they had a decent enough story to work with but the movie overall gives you the impression they really messed things up as they started to go along with it.

Another big issue with this movie is its acting. Didn't even seemed to me that halve of these people were professional actors but just friends and relatives of the crew who were given an opportunity to appear in an actual movie, for once in their lifetime. It was quite bad and made the movie even look more amateur like.

A movie that could had worked out under different (financional) circumstances but now just doesn't.

I am upset.....

as it says above, I am upset that I wasted my time to (1)get this movie and (2) watch this movie.

With a title like Blind Beast vs Killer Dwarf, the potential is enormous. Throw in SM, a dwarf, over the hill actress (nudity), starlets trying to get into the biz (so willing to get their kit off), dwarf abuse and the "VS" in title the movie sounded like even though it would be bad it would be at the very least be worth a few laughs and be entertaining.

WRONG on all counts. This movie is bad. The acting by all involved is horrible, the sets are laughable, (white fabric is supposed to look like a cave?) The blind beast is a skinny blind guy wearing an iron chastity belt!!! and doing what he does for art, he's (censored) blind for (censored) sake!! The dwarf is a dwarf who wants to be normal.

The worst part is there is no VS. I had assume they would eventually go head to head ....errr probably not since one is a dwarf...but go toe to toe. NOTHING of that nature at all.

You can read about the plot line in the other reviews, I cant say i paid attention much to the story, I was fast forwarding through this amateurish, terrible, waste of time.
