I would like to extend major props for the actresses being able to portray the love expressed by Amy and Lucy. I can only imagine how strenuous it had to be working such long hours, but through it all they depicted a believable relationship. Everything from the body language between Sara and Jordana, to the way they interacted with each other fit perfectly. It never looked like they were uncomfortable. As for the rest of the actresses and actors in this movie, they blended together well. Whoever was in charge of choosing characters did a marvelous job. I liked how each individual D.E.B stood out from the next, so it didn't just seem like a blur of "wait which girl is that". All in all I think the love story was good and I would love to have the opportunity to watch another one of Angela Robinson's movies. She did a remarkable job orchestrating this film with the limited amount of time and funds.
I won't try to justify my liking of this film by making excuses for it. The fact remains is that D.E.B.S., both low-budget and low-key, was far more enjoyable than any major blockbuster or highly acclaimed movie I've seen in a while. Honestly, there are no major aspirations in this film and audiences should discard any major expectations too. Essentially, this is a movie that relies on a concept that has long been drained out of film-making - fun. The story itself, though weak in true substance, is hilarious and satirical. The characters are each interesting and worthy of further elaboration. Inevitably, the lesbian love story will always be the central point of D.E.B.S.'s popularity but somehow, it deserves to be. The romance between the hero and the villain, a concept that's a parody in itself, is especially charming.
So forget all your movie snobbery and just watch the damn movie. It's a beautiful way to spend 90 minutes.

don't worry, no spoilers. i left the theater before it was over.
in retrospect it was my own fault for thinking this movie could have been entertaining. i wonder, how could any movie about 4 hot girls in miniskirts be so useless? they seem to have looked for every opportunity for clichés and taken them. there's several attempts at cheap laughs, but none of them are funny.
I never cared much for Charlies Angels (2000) but in comparison with DEBS, Charlies Angels seems like a classic. the comparison is so obvious. therefore, i can at least credit DEBS for showing me the craft behind normal Hollywood blockbusters that i might have previously thought were talentless.

Holy Crap this is bad. It doesn't realize that camp is admission to the audience that there is no underlying story. It's a wink to audience that "hey, this story sucks, but we're making fun of other movies so it's OK." Well, it's not okay. Parodies fail nearly every time because they don't have story lines that keep the audience's interest for the full 90 minutes. They have a string of lame jokes that wears out its welcome within 15. This wears it out in less than 5.
I didn't laugh once at this crap fest. The girls were on the homely side except for the villain. The dialogue was terrible. The storyline, holy crap, what a bad story.
This has no redeeming qualities at all. It fails at every single level. The director will always be a hack. Don't believe me? She directed that catastrophe Herbie: Unloaded. Or whatever the heck it was called.
Trust me. This movie sucks. Whoever says different is probably a mental retard or glue sniffer. Those people account for the popularity of professional wrestling.

I have to admit, I really enjoyed this film. It's a tongue-in-cheek parody of the Charlie's Angels format with good laughs, yet it breaks away from that formula in interesting ways.
First of all, it's pretty racy as far as the revealing uniforms are concerned, so much so it takes you off guard at first.
However, what really shocked me was the well written lesbian love story. At first I reacted in typical guy fashion of: 'Alright! Two chicks going at it', but as you watch the story develop you sense something you don't often see in parody flicks. There's real chemistry here.
I don't know if it was great directing or acting, probably a combination of both, but there were some genuine emotional moments between the two love torn characters -- they were really connecting. It wasn't just a sex thing, but more a real substance, to the point where I found myself rooting for them to finally get together. You'll have to see the movie to find out.
Jimmi Simpson should be mentioned here. I swear I've seen him before, but can't remember where. Point is, his comic timing was flawless and there wasn't a line I didn't laugh on. Maybe I just liked his character or maybe we're going to see a lot more of him in the future.
All in all, it's a fun flick -- you'll enjoy it.

- QuizJordana Brewster originally wanted the lead role of Amy Bradshaw. However, writer/director Angela Robinson convinced her to play the part of supervillain Lucy Diamond.
- BlooperWhen Lucy is climbing the wall to Amy's window she is using suction cup climbers which need a smooth surface, the wall is made of stucco, an uneven surface. At one point you can see her hand waiver showing the cup is not attached to the wall
