Ororo Monroe, aka Storm of the X-Men, has been a busy woman lately. Storm recently joined the Avengers, and her ongoing solo series "Storm" has already been plenty eventful with only three issues so far.

To recap: Storm saved Tulsa from a nuclear meltdown, which was, in fact, a mutant child experiencing power onset. This inspired her to build the hovering "Storm Sanctuary" for mutants, but it also left her with radiation poisoning. After being sent to Brother Voodoo for some magical treatment, her life is saved, but she can't use her mutant powers for one week. So in "Storm" #3, Ororo visited Rogue's Uncanny X-Men in Louisiana and hooked up with Wolverine. Ratings were continuing to climb for the 96th annual Oscars that took place March 12, especially following the all-time lows of the pandemic years. With Jimmy Kimmel returning for his fourth stint as host and second in a row, reviews were upbeat for the most part and the show benefited from a good movie year with blockbusters like Barbie and Best Picture winner Oppenheimer.

Oscarcast executive producers Raj Kapoor, Katy Mullan and Molly McNearney (who also was a writer) and director Hamish Hamilton joined Deadline’s Contenders Television: Documentary + Unscripted event to break it down.

Ryan Gosling visited “The Tonight Show” ahead of his latest hosting stint on “Saturday Night Live” and spoke about his internet-breaking live performance of “I’m Just Ken” at the Oscars last month. Asked by host Jimmy Fallon if it was an immediate yes when the Academy called him up to request he perform the “Barbie” original song live during the ceremony, Gosling said his answer was “100% no.”

“There’s a lot of ways that could go wrong,” Gosling said.

But the performance went very right. Gosling, bathed in pink lighting and wearing a sparkling pink suit and pink gloves, started singing “I’m Just Ken” while in the audience sitting behind Margot Robbie. He then made his way to the stage, where he was joined by Mark Ronson and Slash on guitars. His fellow Ken actors Simu Liu, Scott Evans, Ncuti Gatwa and Kingsley Ben-Adir joined the armada of backup dancers behind Gosling.

ABC’s Last Man Standing extended its strong 2017 ratings showing with another solid delivering last night. The multi-camera sitcom starring Tim Allen was the top program on Friday in adults 18-49 (Live+same day) for a fourth consecutive week with a 1.3 rating, even with last week and the second highest result for the show this season behind its January return (1.5).

Last Man Standing has been a success story in broadcast syndication where it launched last fall. The extra exposure may have boosted the ABC airings on the sitcom, whose ratings upswing started with the fall finale in December. Also, the show may have successfully tapped in the mood of the country post-election — with a central character who is a political conservative and devout Christian adhering to traditional American values, the show appeals to viewers in the Heartland.
