Realistic plot and fighting scenes, but fake performance

This is a typical Chinese version of John Wayne's World War II type war flicks in which the fighting scenes are realistic, but the characters' performance were not: Everyone is extremely polite and these is no cursing at all, despite the harsh and brutal war environment. As a result, every soldier seemed to be a holy person with great powers but without hatred, obviously not the case in real life.
