It's a variation on the already old comedy chase short about the man pursued by a bevy of women who want marry him -- for an earlier example, take a look at HOW A FRENCH NOBLEMAN FOUND A WIFE THROUGH THE NEW YORK HERALD from five years earlier. In this one, Andre Deed is afflicted by his irresistible beauty -- while dressed up as a comedy creature hideous to the eye of the discerning movie-goer.

Deed was already a regular in short comedy, playing Cretinetti or Boireau regularly -- in those days, the character was owned by the studio, so the mostly anonymous comic had to adopt a new name when he shifted studios. He would continue regular production of these shorts through the middle of the following decade, and would appear in shorts and features through 1938, a couple of years before his death.

Andre Deed directs himself as a comical young man who finds that being unaccountably irresistible to women of all ages has its down side. It's an amusing short that avoids becoming just another chase movie thanks to a gruesome finale and some neat stop motion photography.
