Witse

When they started broadcasting "Witse" several years ago, I really looked forward seeing it. I saw the most episodes of the first season, but after a while the quality the episodes started to fall. In the beginning I was satisfied and I thought Hubert Damen was giving an pretty good acting performance. The stories were good and it was an entertaining new police series. But then there where a few episodes with a very weak story and there were several scenes where the acting was extremely bad. It almost looked like some weak school play. I was very disappointed because it started very good. Maybe the script writing and acting became routine. I don't know what happened afterwards. Maybe the screenplays became better, maybe they didn't..? I don't know because I stopped watching.

Although the plot follows the typical crime, mystery and solution plot, Witse is much more than a crime drama. It is a peek at Flemish culture and it's a nice way to imporove your Dutch. There are many hidden jokes and Easter eggs that hatch later on in every series.

Always the same concept every episode and it's very predictable. I wouldn't recommend it because it's boring too. If you're looking for good Belgian series: Undercover,tabula rasa,...

I like Witse. I'm a fan of Belgium and the language, I learn a lot of Belgian pronunciations / words :-) The only character that I can't stand in the series is Annemie.

well i started watching Witse , i loved it at first but the last 2 episodes i saw on TV (dec 2006), were not that entertaining as they used to do! as "pourquoi_pas" said , maybe it's the writers ... i don't think it's a actors thing ... if the acting has not been done it a good way it 's the director who has to make the right the actors make it do the way he sees it, & if the director is satisfied or there is no more budget those things can happen that it turns out like this, i hope that "Witse" will return, i was sad when Dimitri Died, to me that was a lass ...

anyway , good luck to the team in doing a good job for Belgium television!
