Recensioni in evidenza
Although for most of the world, our fantasies of the frontier have turned outward in sf movies, an equally mysterious frontier was opened in the 20th century by Jacques Cousteau, a French naval officer who invented the aqualung and let man freely move about the depths of the ocean. No longer insulated by bathyspheres or tethered to the world above by air lines, man could fly through the new world.
This TV special, produced for Cousteau's 75th birthday tells his biography, but even more, it tells of his passion. Through narration by Jose Ferrer and archived films that date from as early as the 1920s, much of it shot by Cousteau, it is the story of a hero, and one of the most inspiring movies ever produced.
