    Unforgettable storyline and gameplay

I love Onimusha series because it doesn't let the player get bored. Game will keep busy all the time with storyline, fights and puzzles.

I completed the game in approx 4 hrs with many respawns😅 and ended having a C grade.

The only annoying thing of this game is that if you die in middle of any fight, yog have to restart your game from the last save point. As it was 2001 game we can't actually complain about it.

Definitely the best game for one who wants to play adventurous game.

Fantastic Game, albeit short. Fantastic. Can't wait for the sequel.

Onimusha really is a fantastic video game, one of the first really good games for the Playstation 2 console. The use of a real person having the main character based on him is quite amusing, in this case of Takeshi Kaneshiro having Samonosuke Akechi modeled after him. The game has an underlying demonic theme that I personally did not care fore. But nevertheless it's a fantastic game. Worth buying!

This would make a cool movie

A great game with some very cool cut scenes, that even by todays standards of video gaming are still very cool, I think it would make a great story with maybe Chow Yun Fat playing Samonoske Akechi possibly with the guy Ken Watanabe i think is his name playing Warlord Oda Nobunaga who aside from being a cool villain in the game is a real life Japanese Warlord in i wanna say Feudal japan when there were many men seeking to be ruler of the entire county of Japan. James Hong or Victor Wong as possibly Tokichiro, Nobunaga's second in command. If Hollywood decided to make a sequel it could have had Jet Li as Jubei Yagyu in the sequel, and Jean Reno as Jacques Blanc in Onimusha 3, possibly John Woo directing all 3 movies. Just thinking aloud here.

A forgotten gem lost in time

The game takes place in feudal Japan and you play a samurai who gains the powers of the Demons, giving you the ability to control fire, wind, and lightning.

+)A very unique and original idea +)The soundtrack is well done. It used a live orchestra. +)Very nice graphics, even in 2018 the graphics still hold up well. +)Smooth 60 FPS gameplay +) A nice mixture of action, role playing, and puzzle gameplay

~)Very poor English dub. Forget Resident Evil 1, Onimusha 1 has the worst English dub in gaming history ~)I like the controls but others may complain. It controls like RE. ~)Good length but some may complain that is it way too short. about 3-5 hours.

This game is great if you have an afternoon to spare. It still holds and started a great trilogy of games. It also stars real-life Japanese celebrities as the game characters.

    Oni got my arm.

This is a swan song for pre rendered backgrounds and for the old way, capcom video game design from the PS1 days.

Has that PS1 voice acting, say I love and they are pronouncing so many Japanese words wrong. It's so cute, I cannot describe it, the voice acting of this era is a treat.

The combat works so well, It is simple a attack a block and instant Perry if you're attack right time, but it works so well and the boss fights are designed so you can defeat it with almost no Resources, It is an intelligently design combat system, with almost all the bosses being fun to fight.

The story is cheese but the music helps it along so well. If it's the original score or remake, doesn't matter it works to make this simple story feel emotionally and epicness.

One big giant mistake that I would say at least take it down a few points for me, that is you cannot skip the cutscene, You can only do that in the Xbox version for the original Xbox

But beside that point, is going to speed runners to the pit of Madness I would recommend it 100%, It is an amazing game and amazing early ps2 game.

The North American Version includes both Japanese dialog and American Dialog. Most gamers will recommend playing the game with Japanese dialog along with English Subtitles to help heighten the Feudal Japan feel to the game.
