One of the best PBS shows!

With the childhood joy of having read the Berenstain Bears and learning all sorts of lessons from the always-optimistic Bear family, and not having seen very much of the old 1980s series, this came into my life. This, along with Reading Rainbow, Sesame Street, Wishbone, Arthur, Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, to name some, was entertaining. With the help of our northern neighbors in Canada, this show made quite an impact, even if it only lasted a few seasons. Now I watch it on YouTube and it hasn't lost its appeal. It's cute, entertaining, funny, touching, sweet, and most of all: educational! Anyone who wants to watch it, go where I go, and see it on YouTube, as I said!

Important Family Show

This is a very important family show because in recent years so many shows are just a wasteland of pointless silly entertainment with no real point other than a very thin tacked on message tacked on in a klutzy. This show has real morals and lessons taught in an entertaining and non high handed way. Kids like the show but also learn from it and that I like. More shows should be like this.

A Wonderful Show

Growing up in the 80's I loved to look at The Berenstain Bears on Saturday mornings. It's such a cute and priceless cartoon. Now PBS is airing the Berenstain Bears weekday mornings at 7:00 eastern time. It's perfect for children to watch before they go to school and for adults who remember this from childhood as I do.

NO

All I remember from this show is being terrified by the awful character designs. I don't care about anything else. Maybe this show is great, I don't know, but this show will always be associated with fear in my mind. Terrible voice acting and animation aren't appealing to children - end of story.

A good show for all ages not just for kids

This is such an amazing show! I've seen every single episode of it and it's awesome! The Berenstain Bears is about a family of four: Mama, Papa, Brother, and Sister who live in a town called Bear Country. Together they learn some valuable life lessons. This is a great show and if you're a parent this is good for your kids and it isn't annoying as some kid shows can be sometimes. I'm a teenager now and sometimes I go back and watch this show because it is so good!

Ageist

In one particular episode where Brother Bear and Sister Bear visit their Grandparents' house, Brother Bear makes a remark about how old they are, which, while innocent on the surface, might come across as humorously blunt to older viewers. The show's seemingly wholesome and family-friendly premise occasionally features moments that, when reinterpreted with adult humor or context, could spark debates about its intended audience. This is why, for comedic exaggeration, one might jokingly suggest that the show be rated R18-it's a way to highlight how certain lines or situations could take on an entirely different meaning if viewed through a more grown-up lens.

Good for learning lessons

This show is not boring at all. It is sensibly written to appeal to younger children (preschool and kindergarten age) and teach them values at the same time. In this age of redundant stupidity in entertainment, parents need a show like this one to help illustrate how fair life should be, and give a firm footing to children, not overwhelm them with glitz, glam and gloss. By keeping plots simple and allowing children to follow along at their level, this show simply teaches children how to be fair, consider other's feelings and have good sportsmanship. These are core values which are not being taught to children at daycare dumps or underfunded public schools. If a parent expects more out of this show for themselves, they should consider re-viewing and actually listening to the plot. The simple storytelling is charming and perfect for 3-6 year olds. As parents, we need to put our children first and our entertainment expectations last.

Classic

This version is better than the original show because its just so much warmer and the colors and animation are pleasant to look at.

Father is funny, reliable and a cool father.

Brother acts cool. He can be kind of a sissy.

Sister is sensitive and she has a nice voice.

Mama is less scary in this version. However, she is a worry wart in some episodes.

Too Tall is a sissy bully. Sometimes he picks on brother other times he hangs with brother

There is no villain in this version. The Show is less about the town and more about The family learning lessons in a more slow and hand held way compared to the original.

Theme song isn't bad and its not iconic either. Its still a fine song to jam to when know one is looking.

Verdict: Enjoyable. Great colours and great episodes.

Mandela Effect is not real

It's called people changing things. People do it. There is no "effect".

I preferred the newer treehouse edition. That one was much more warm and cozy to watch. This edition was good because it was a more open world. It just lacked the warmth and pacing that the newer one had. The soundtrack and characters carry a much rigid frequency compared to the newer edition. Don't get me wrong, some things like open world and characters with attitude are phenomenal. Still, since I have a preference, the new edition is better in my opinion.

In conclusion, great show that children today could enjoy.

A Simple Cartoon for Simple Minds

The Berenstain Bears were great books for kid who were learning to read and then the made a nice little cartoon for kids. I have most of the episodes on tape. I bought them at the store about ten years ago and even back then the quality wasn't very good and it was a little hard to understand what they were saying, but the kids still loved them. Some people say that the shows are too addicting and that kids will want to watch TV instead of reading the books, but its nice to get a break every once in awhile. The Berenstien Bears came back in 2003, but it didn't last as long. Good thing PBS shows the reruns. Both shows are great and its a good way to teach little kids.

Am I the only one who remembers these?

Although I never saw the TV show itself, I saw many videos of many different episodes. I remember best the "I Want It All" song from, well, I don't remember which one. I just remember really liking the song but not being able to see the video a lot. I did have a couple of them, the one about strangers, and another, I think. Well, anyway, this is one of those things from the deep recesses of my childhood that isn't very clear at this time. Anyone else who can give a more complete review, please come forward!

Really cute

Though I have never seen the TV Show I do enjoy reading the books. I liked Brother Bear. Brother Bear was eight years old and Sister was six years old. Brother had a best friend named Freddy. Sister had a best friend named Lizzy. Papa had a best friend named Farmer Ben. In The Double Dare Brother is asked to steal Too Tall and his friends a watermelon. In The Trouble With Grownups Brother and Sister decide that there Mama and Papa are a little too rough on them. In The Trouble with Money Sister and Brother get jobs but when they have a little too much cash there parents put it in the bank.
