"Christina's House" is an interesting, low budget thriller / mystery film with a good cast. Don't watch it expecting too much though, and you'll probably only want / need to watch it once, but nevertheless, it's a fun, although at times slow, watch. Allison Lange makes her film debut here, and is rather good as Christina Tarling. Yes, the film is about her house and the strange going-ons that take place soon after she and her brother (Lorne Stewart) and father James (the excellent John Savage) move in.
Christina deals with typical teenage issues, such as pressure from her boyfriend Eddy (the charming Brendan Fehr), her trouble making brother, problems between her father and boyfriend and so on. The Sheriff begins to investigate the disappearances of several teens who were all last seen at Christina's house, and in typical small-town Sheriff convention, he is not the nicest of men. Jerry Hasseman does a good job playing him. Crystal Buble is okay as Christina's friend Karen, and Brad Rowe is suitably creepy as the mysterious Howie.
The ending to the film is somewhat of a let down, and at certain points the film leaves you wanting more, or a better explanation, but overall, a good effort from all involved, and the cast are great to watch.

Naw,it doesn't set the world afire, but,HEY,it does the job! It's set up like it might be one of those SCREAM clones but quickly moves off into more psychologically creepy moments.Christina,a cute teenager, starts hearing weird noises coming from the attic and walls. She starts finding odd little things around the house.A partialy eaten oreo by her window,a sandwich sitting in the kitchen her family didn't make.Is Christina losing her mind? The ending is kinda cheezy, but there are a few good suspenseful moments I liked quite a bit.I like this movie.
I was just browsing through the aisles of Blockbuster when I saw the cover of this. I automatically recognized Brendan Fehr. I watched the movie. I admit it is corny, however I love the classic cheesy horror movies. I don't like it when it's complex and can be nominated for an oscar. I love being able to make fun of a movie. And if you are a fan of Roswell then you have to see the movie. Brendan Fehr's character is so much like Michael. I loved it for what it was: a classic cheesy horror flick.
A pretty good B horror movie. It was suspenseful, the plot was a little above mediocrity, but not great. Not much for gore hounds I'm afraid, though there was some blood near the end. The acting was very good, but then, I usually watch stuff like Polonia Bros. and other Microbudget rubbish.
What we have here is a pretty teenage girl played by Allison Lange, who has moved with her father and little brother into an old house. Some creepy things start to happening in this house and it slowly builds up to a climactic ending. Very much in the style of some of the 70s horror, such as 'Amittyville Horror.' This isn't as good as that, because the plot is very predictable after 30 years of such movies, but it is worth watching.
The one thing that stands out is the father and his relationship with Christina. I haven't seen any mention of this in the reviews I have read, but the father seems to have an unnatural love for his daughter, and she seems to know it, but represses it. When she was washing the dishes at one point, he told her something like, 'you look good tonight Christina.' She clearly felt awkward and changed the subject.
All in all, I give this slightly above average suspense horror a 6 out of 10. But Allison Lange should be commended for her acting and I would say deserves to be in some better pictures in the future.

Wow...This movie wasnt the greatest horror flick....no kidding? It wasnt bad. I watched this movie and it was entertaining..sure the story was weak and the teens werent original..but you gotta give it some credit. Its gotten so many reviews must mean people were interested even if they didnt like it.
I thought Gavin Wilding did a great job for a low budget movie...and thats not to say the cast was bad, I thought they were all good for their parts.
I give it a 5/10 because cheesy horror movies should have a place in everybodys heart ..i mean c'mon didnt you all call Friday The 13th cheesy until Jason got his hockey mask and then we thought the 'bag' was an instant classic...so dont criticize a movie for its lack of money to make it, just head back to blockbuster and rent Return To Neverland maybe they'll be a few more twists?
