    7/10!

A cute show! Full of great Marvel characters, a lot of them actually! Liked the plot, the different storylines and sup-plot from the comics, it's a 7/10 from me!

Best Avengers animated series to date! (2013)

Animation quality notwithstanding; it's rather obv than Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes pales in comparison to this one. Once and if you're willing to gave it a more objective look, of course. For instance, I didn't like how they handle the Wonder Man or Vision characters in the newer series. And I didn't mind the perceived lack of appearance of the major others in this one. As a matter of fact; I wouldn't have noticed if not explicitly pointed out later on. And in a way, I'm glad that they didn't appear. They're boring, overpowered and overrated egotripping asses anyhow. In particular the Hulk; he can go smash himself in the head all he wants, and make himself even more dumber, for all I care. He even comes more unlikable and unbearable that Hawkeye; in any incarnation. I also felt that the older one was closer to the comics; albeit the West Coast branch; and had more originality and distinct personality on itself. Also, I thought it was a clever spin of the same old; and at least a way above average offering. It was also way more interesting, since it was set in a slightly alternate future. The explanation for their powers made even more sense here than in the comics, and was more than adequate; even the secondary ones. They feel more like a real team too. It's a pity that it was so abruptly cancelled; and didn't get a decent run. It'd been nice to see it further developed; since the story and plot were really good. Eg, I'm certain they'd make more use of the suits; but sadly never got the chance. Even the arcs were more freshly engaging that AEMH too. Animation was not bad; but it wasn't great either. It was good for the time, though. And it's still decent to this day; IMHO. So all-in-all, I don't understand how some people can call themselves true (hardcore) fans, and not like this (WTF?!) Simply because it didn't fit in their little minds' preconceived ideas of what it supposedly should've been. Jack Kirby and Stan Lee were credited as writers and creators. Even Stan Lee and Avi Arad were further involved, and are listed as executive producers, for gawd sakes! What else does it take for menial dogmatic stubborn pompous asses to just get it?! And I don't understand their toy line argument either; since every media franchise, since I have memory, has attempted to further capitalize in that way. In any case, I remember this airing during the 90s; which was when I first saw it. So to me this will always be the definitive and original (animated) Avengers! A step forward in the whole Avengers universe anyhow ever since (a kid's series' better than none:) Anyway; lots of action, and although obv geared for little kids; it also equally offers lots of twists and drama for adults. So do yourself a favor and watch this underrated gem, but with an open mind.:)

    Prettty badd andd here's why...

    SERIES ENDS ON A CLIFFHANGER.

This series starts from nowhere in the midst of THICK plot that could have been interesting to see and for like half the show or less and then move onto the other thick plot that was there. It even had fillers... The voice acting was pretty meh and characters sounded confused, lmao. No origin stories of nobody. Also adult avengers act like small kids with tantrums. Basically a lot of mess and whatever potential it had, it just didn't want to put it into focus and structure. I'm glad there were no dominant/main avengers like in the live action movies for the most part and it was interesting to see other superheroes.

    Credit Where Credit Is Due.......

So I think this show is both underrated and overrated. I think its cool how they are giving other superheroes a big part of the show. I like how you don't see the same avengers like in every other cartoon. But how that is a cool thing, it doesn't work all the time. When you take out all the main avengers, you do have a lack of care for the others. The villains are also pretty forgettable. None but Ultron were interesting. The effects age poorly as well. But I don't think that's the shows fault. So is this the best Avengers show we have got? No by a long shot, but overall, its not a horrible attempt. I don't think it is down right awful, its just a failed toy commercial attempt.

Nostalgic and Fun Series but Formulaic and Lacking in Character Development or Plot

Animation shows have come a long way since 1999. Watching "Avengers: United We Stand" felt like going back in time and observing a relic of the past. Certainly 1999 was almost twenty years ago, more than half my lifetime and I think if I was a child when the show came out I would have given it a much higher score. I recognize that rating the show's quality on today's standards will be skewed and partisan. Keeping this in mind I will review the show as a modern viewer intended for a modern audience. If you are a die hard fan of the Avengers and/or have nostalgic feelings towards the turn of the 21st century era than this show will appeal to you. The thirteen episodes in season one (and the only season for this series) focus on the Avengers team comprised of Ant Man, Wasp, Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, Vison, Falcon, Tigris, and Wonderman. They battle to save the planet (it wasn't enough to save just Earth) against the likes of Ultron (who was created by Ant Man) and the Zodiac squad. The line of up Avenger characters was surprisingly refreshing. Although stalwart characters like Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, Black Widow and Black Panther were missing, I found this cast of characters enjoyable to watch with their varied personalities and gender balancing ratio.

The biggest criticism I have of the show is that the story line was too one-dimensional. Almost like the show "Scooby Doo," each episode had a very formulaic structure where the Avengers needed to save the day and by the end mission was completed. I understand with a superhero show there's only so much variety you can have but I think what could have improved the plot would. have been delving into the backstory of the characters. Each of the Avengers seemed to have a lot of interesting history but virtually none of it was explored. The animation though simple and a little pixelated was colorful and the characters were attractive. Overall "Avengers: United We Stand" is a fun throwback show from yesteryears but unless you are looking for a nostalgic respite from the modern fast paced and intricate Avengers series I wouldn't waste my time.

Tentative plans for additional episodes featured: Hawkeye's return to the carnival where he grew up; an exploration of how Scarlet Witch discovered her powers; guest appearances by the X-Men, which would have utilized the Toronto-based cast from the series since Tony Daniels, Lenore Zann, and Ron Rubin had already worked on Insuperabili X-Men (1992); Dr. Robert Bruce Banner (a.k.a. The Incredible Hulk) appearing to help the team when Henry Pym/Ant Man fell ill to gamma radiation exposure during a fight with the Egg-Head; and a two-part episode featuring Thor and his brother Loki (there was even a Thor toy made for the show's line of action figures). However, all plans were scrapped when the show did not return for a second season.
