A lot of people dislike "Mortal Kombat 3"; I don't know why, and am not sure I never will. It's not like the early Midway games had a storyline that was fleshed out through the game-play; the later ones would of course. But "Mortal Kombat 3" does have its flaws, none of which detract from the gratuitous bloodshed and realistic martial arts combat. Really, the only thing that mars the whole experience is the ridiculous combo system and end bosses Motaro and Shao Kahn. By the end of the day, ko-kreators Ed Boon and John Tobias can stand proud: "Mortal Kombat 3" isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Third time is a charm.

"Mortal Kombat 3" for Sega was a major step forward for the series and rightfully occupies its place in my personal golden collection of classic fighting games. She not only continued the traditions of the previous installments, but also offered many innovations that made the game more intense and exciting.
The main thing that distinguishes Mortal Kombat 3 is the evolution of combat mechanics. The appearance of combos added dynamics to the battles: now players could connect punches into chains that looked spectacular and required skill. Each fighter had their own unique set of combos, which added depth and variety. Players had to study the characteristics of each character in order to reach their full potential. How many small books were searched, where lists of combinations of pressed buttons for combos were prescribed for each fighter. It was a golden time.
At the time of the release, the graphics looked impressive. Improved animations, detailed backgrounds and effects have made the game visually appealing. Interestingly, later, when "Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3" was released, the graphics seemed a little less impressive, although this is more the effect of the first memories. As a child, MK3 was remembered as the most "real" and lively part of the series, where every fight looked like an epic fight.
The game continued the usual fighting game format with legendary fatalities, friendships and ... transformations into animals. Yes, yes. "Animality" is the name of this thing. A somewhat strange but peculiar opportunity to end a fight by offering players creative ways to humiliate or make their opponent laugh. In addition, the game has retained its characteristic dark style, where each battle is not just a fight, but a real test with elements of the show.
"Mortal Kombat 3" is a classic fighting game that has become a landmark for its time. Improved graphics, new mechanics and familiar elements have made the game one of the best in the series. She gave unforgettable emotions, especially to those who first got acquainted with the series through her. By the way, I was exactly that person, having played the previous parts later and realized how much cooler MK3 was. Even years later, the memories remain vivid, and the game's contribution to the fighting game genre is difficult to overestimate.

Mortal Kombat 3 also changed the history of fighting video games for many reasons...
It generated an easy to perform combo system that became a favorite for fans and best of all, it was addictive. You could perform 8 button combo attacks combined with your special powers.
Also, the story is very interesting not to say creepy and powerful. It deals with earth's invasion by Shao Khan. This time, Rayden who "cannot interfere anymore" created a new earth army that brings the most interesting new characters in the series plus the beloved ones like Sub-Zero, Sonya (returns), Liu Kang, Kung-Lao, Kabal, and Stryker. Now it's up to them to defeat Kahn's minions, Motaro (the new Shotokan leader) and in the end, Kahn himself.
The graphics are excellent! The characters look bigger, shaped, and have cool clothing. The sound is just wonderful, maybe not as impressive and haunting as in part II but still really good with modern tracks and the always creepy and haunting "The Pit III" tune.
The fatalities are a letdown in terms of originality and brutality. Some of them are even laughable like Kabal's banshee scream, Kang's arcade, or "giant Jax". Some of them are spectacular like Jax performing a la T-100, the Sektor Kompaktor, Cyrax's helicopter, Kung Lao's hat cutting, Kano's skeleton rip, and Sub-Zero's frozen destruction, to name some.
The game play is addictive, even more than in part II. You just don't get tired of the combo system and best of all, because the story and music catches your attention and senses.

"Mortal Kombat 3" was a great game, but many MK-fans didn`t like this one bit. The fantastic atmosphere of MK 2 is not to be found here, but it`s nevertheless a great game, with a far more complex combat-system than before, thanks to the combo-system, which gives room for far more complex moves than before. I dislike many of the new characters and many of the finishing-moves are so odd that you won`t like them. This game was the last great game in the MK-series.

Lo sapevi?
- QuizLia Montelongo, who plays the ancient Sindel, was only 18 at the time the game was made.
- BlooperThis is very common in the game , at least in the Sega version, when you use Sindels hair attack fatality, the hair will exceed the height of the person and will glitch., This is true especially when you face off against taller opponents and it doesn't line up properly.
