La rimpatriata

This film could be included in a trilogy with I Vitelloni(1953) of Federico Fellini and Main Street(1956)Calle Mayor(original title) of Juan Antonio Bardem, all three films have in common a group of friends who spend some time together and share their experiences with women. It's one of the first films of what later would become the expert in Mafia movies, Damiano Damiani. We have a very good bunch of actors, headed by Walter Chiari. Joining him, Francisco Rabal, Letícia Román, Riccardo Garrone, Dominique Boschero, Paul Guers, Gastone Moschin, Jacqueline Pierreux, Mino Guerrini, Mimma Di Terlizzi, Livia Contardi. The film is not a comedy, as noted, is just a drama, a strong realistic drama, very well played, in the good old Italian 60's style.

Milan, Italy,: Alberto, the lawyer , encounters his friend Sandro and they decided to meet again the group of old friends: the doctir Livio, Nino and Cesarino who works in a move theater: then begins a sleepless night: Cesarino is the anmator of the group calling to some women-he manages to convince Tina, Alberto meets Clara at the movie theater,the blonde woman who accepts to join the group of friends,and then begin the tribulations of the group of friends -the wife Giulia and the mistress Maria in an apartment, the night in the trattoria of Pino-. Little by little the mood is changing, Carla tries to forget her moment with Alberto, Tina abandons her seducer Nino, but Cesarino insists to meet again Lara.

A very nice description of a sleepless night in Milan.
