The 2nd, although scary with alot of replay value, pretty much tried too much to be like the original. "Biohazard 3" also has replay value, you make decisions that affect the path your character takes. It is also alot scarier than any of the other Resident Evils ("Biohazards")

You play as Jill Valentine, the character from the original Resident Evil, in a game that is Half Prequel, Half Sequel. Half of the game takes place before Resident Evil 2, the other half takes place after Resident Evil 2.

I remember playing this game when it first came out in 1999 on the Dreamcast and thinking how intense/scary it was compared to RE 1 and 2. Resident Evil 3 takes place in Raccoon city (before and after RE 2) and you play as S.T.A.R.S member Jill Valentine who is desperately trying to escape. You meet a few characters along the way and some interesting enemies including Umbrellas new monster Nemesis who's only mission is to kill the remaining S.T.A.R.S members. The game is full of fun challenging puzzles way better then the other games in my opinion. And for its time had incredible cut scene graphics. To this day this game is my favorite video game of all time. Every time I play it its just as interesting as the first. 10/10

Anyone who liked Resident Evil & Resident Evil 2 will LOVE this game. It is the perfect third installment to the Playstation series of games. I especially like the part of the game where you actually get to shoot zombies as they rise out of the graveyard. Game lovers cannot go wrong playing this one. I can't say enough good things about these games!!!

Resident Evil 3 - Nemesis is simply the best game ever released. I played it back in 2000 when I was really young and I was so mesmerized by this game that I couldn't do anything else for months. I only wanted to play and play. Jill Valentine got her place in my heart and the best and more complete character of all and Nemesis had his meaning too. He was simply terrifying, which made him unforgettable. Don't consider this grade, it deserves a 10. And if you are the kind of person who is able to feel the things from within, you'll agree with me. PS=I'd like to ask you guys to ignore all the reviews from the players who started playing with Resident Evil 4. Cause they are the ones who give bad reviews to this amazing game, just because they got into the franchise through the game that changed the franchise sense and they were probably teenagers at the time, to compare the graphics (since they were not able to feel the essence of this masterpiece.)

This was my favorite Resident Evil game for the PS1 and one of the most intense (if not, THE most intense) entry for the PS1.

The space of the game takes place before and after the events of Resident Evil 2. For about 90% of the game, you control S. T. A. R. S. Member Jill Valentine as she tries to escape from the now zombie infested Raccoon City while also avoiding a relentless and seemingly unstoppable new enemy sent by Umbrella. I'll get to him soon... She also meets up with U. B. C. S. corporal Carlos Oliviera who assists her throughout the game.

First of all, I love how the game sheds more light on the Raccoon City incident. More areas of the city are revealed, and you're given more opportunity to explore them and witness the effects of the T-Virus outbreak. RE2 was limited to a few streets and alleys, the RPD, some sewer tunnels, and the Umbrella facility NEST. Here, you'll traverse through city streets, a power station, restaurant, bar, clock tower, hospital, park, and finally an Umbrella facility.

Thanks to some new mechanics, the game is a bit more action orientated. You have a gunpowder mixer to create certain types of ammunition, a dodging feature for Jill to avoid damage, explosives barrels and boxes to shoot and kill enemies, split-second decision making that could mean difference between life and death, especially during scripted encounters with Nemesis. Plus, despite retaining tank controls, you can now make 180 turns to quickly retreat from danger.

The dialogue is decent, and the characters are well developed. Jill is more hardened and confident, thanks to her experiences in RE1. Despite being a seasoned Umbrella mercenary, Carlos still has a good heart and proves himself a reliable companion for Jill. Mikhail is a brave man grieving for the deaths of his troops and even sacrifices his life to save Jill from Nemesis, and Nikolai is the human antagonist who is a greedy opportunist.

The soundtrack was pretty good with dark and gloomy music like "City of Ruin" or "City without Hope" that emphasize that Raccoon is dead and hopelessly lost to the T-Virus. And we have the spine-shivering "Feel the Tension" that plays whenever Nemesis is nearby.

Speaking of which, throughout the game, Jill must avoid Nemesis, one of the most intimidating enemies in video game history. Not only is he super strong, fast, and durable, but intelligent enough to use weapons, open doors, set ambushes, track Jill no matter where she goes, and even speak, although all he says is his infamous catchphrase: "Sssssstaaaarsss!!!"

For a side game meant to hold fans over while the series moved on to the next generation of consoles with RE:Code Veronica, RE3 is a strong contender for best overall game in the franchise. The ability to quick turn, toggle while targeting, and mix gunpowder were welcome gameplay additions. Back to back playthroughs are rarely ever the same as solutions to puzzles and pop-up scare locations change, and player decisions influence the way the plot unfolds. RE3 closes out the Raccoon City chapter of the game with S.T.A.R.S officer Jill Valentine's final attempt to escape the giant graveyard, evading zombies, mutants, Umbrella mercs, and a powerful new Bioweapon; Nemesis. Like Mr. X before him, this nemesis will stop at nothing to locate and end you, and is far more equipped to do so. As if having the hunting prowess of Predator, the speed of a Jamaican sprinter, NFL linebacker bulk, and the face of Sam Cassell weren't scary enough, they had the audacity to give this guy a rocket launcher!!

I remember being pretty damn impressed when I first got this game (first one I'd actually ever picked up). Having played the others since, I can say that this is equal to RE2 (which is saying something, considering that was great), though Nemesis is the best boss of the original three as far as I'm concerned.

Pros: + Nemesis. One of the most unrelenting, scariest bosses in gaming. + Pretty strong cast of characters. + Genuinely scary, a lot of the time.

Cons: - Same premise as before, in many ways (not the most original game). - Same gameplay as before, too.

1999's Resident Evil 3: Nemesis was directed by Kazuhiro Aoyama and serves nicely as the conclusion of the original Resident Evil trilogy and the beginning of what's to come.

Set before, during and after the events of Resident Evil 2, we play as Jill Valentine as she attempts her desperate escape of the overrun Raccoon City. And right away the scale, action and stakes of this story are immediately raised by the epically chaotic opening cutscene and having to escape the T-Virus infestation in the very heart of the city.

Getting to see and explore the streets of the city is incredibly exciting and tense, with zombies not only being faster but also in greater numbers than ever before. And to make matters tougher, you are pursued by the titular B. O. W. Tyrant, Nemesis, whose sole mission is to destroy all remaining members of S. T. A. R. S. This guy makes the T-00 seem like a walk in the park as Nemesis hunts you relentlessly throughout the entire game. When his music kicks in, you hear his growl and he begins sprinting right after you room after room, it is a truly spine-tingling scary thing. His presence casts a successfully dread-inducing shadow over the entire game, never knowing when he will appear next.

Across my 7 hour playtime, there was rarely a time I felt safe and prepared. Being the most difficult game of the original three, I truly felt as though I was only just barely surviving one scenario to the next, often having little health to get me through it. And this ultimately made it all the more satisfying when I finally got to fight back at the end and escape the city just in time. Along with this the music is solid, the conclusion is both relieving and tragic, and the direction is exciting.

While the story is incredibly straight-forward and the simplest one yet, I still enjoyed getting to play as Jill again, and newcomers such as Carlos, Mikhael and Nikolai were all neat additions. The game also concludes with epilogues for most of the central characters from the last three games, creating a sense of finality while also setting up an exciting future to come.

However, the game's puzzles and exploration don't come together as seamlessly as its predecessors, often requiring a bit more running back and forth, and the controls can be incredibly finicky and tedious when thrown into an enclosed action-heavy space for a boss fight.

Overall, while its pacing and mechanics aren't as strong as the previous entrees, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis offers the most intense and satisfying experience yet and is no doubt a worthy sequel.

Resident Evil 2 was everyone's favorite Resident Evil title at the time and with Resident Evil 3, it was some people personal favorite.

Positives: We get to play as one of the characters from the first game, Jill Valentine. The game still use tank controls but added something new that the pervious games doesn't have: dodging and 180 quick turn. These mechanics are use to help in some situations unlike the last 2 games, moving into a little more action. We finally get to explored the streets of Raccoon City where in Resident Evil 2 you explored the police station. While the game started to feel more action-toward, we we're quickly reminded that it's a horror game from one creature name Nemesis. Nemesis is seem like a clone of Mr. X but the difference is that he's smarter, have tentacles, and RUNS AFTER YOU! Nemesis mostly stalks you everywhere you go, which case me to get very paranoid throughout the game. You have a reloading tool which can be used with gunpowder to create ammo if you're running low. The more you use it, the better skilled you get. Also, the background environment looks way better than RE2, actually looks like a 3D game and it still holds up. There's a HD version on PC where you get a sharper look.

Negatives: Now honestly, I didn't really have anything negative to say but looking back at it, I do have issues with this. I did say the game seem to lean toward action which it's fine, but my problem is that the controls wasn't meant for a fast paced game like this and it's really a struggle. The amount of backtracking is such a pain. The previous has backtracking, but this one has the most out of all the 3 and it's a little annoying. We get to see new characters in this game which I liked, but they never showed up or even mentioned in future titles. Why introduced us to new people when we're not going to see them again. What a waste. I'm not going to be talking about the graphics or characters because this game came out on PS1.

Overall, this is my personal favorite Resident Evil game (I think I'm going to get hated for this but I think this game is better than RE2). It have some flaws but it's pretty enjoyable and addicting to play.

The gameplay is really astounding in this game. Most of the characters are developed enough to know a little or a lot about them. The different weaponry is really cool. The side stories are really intriguing. The zombies are detailed with different styles of them throughout the game and it makes it fun to play. The enemies are extremely advanced in this game. In the end this game did good for a Resident Evil game. Surprised me on how good it turned out to be. My rating 9/10

The graphics are great, the video sequences are even better and the puzzles are very good. This is a great new game. I liked the way that the zombies can now walk up and down stairs to get you. You'll never be bored with this game. There are always things to kill and puzzles to solve. Get this game, it's great!

This is one of the best RE's game that i have played, beside the first,second and the third one of course. This Dreamcast version is much more alive and kicking.

The graphics is superb but the only thing is that the puzzle can be a bit hard sometimes.

Just after the Mansion problem, Jill decides now is the time to leave the city when the zombies begin to walk the streets. The time frame in this is 24 hours before the events in BioHazard 2 and another 24 hours after it. Umbrella has hired a group of mercenaries to search for survivors, possibly just to make them look good, since most of the evidence of their research was left in the mansion. It appears that umbrella has been up to some other experiments... a monster prototype Nemesis has been sent out to kill the remaining S.T.A.R.S. members, so getting out of the city suddenly got much harder than Jill thought...

I just finished beating the game and i like it. I choose easy mode cause hard mode is hard for me and the dolphin emulator doesn't have this game on normal mode. I never played a classic RE game before so i wanted to give it a try. I don't have this game on any other console just on the dolphin emulator.

The first one had a lot of flaws, but the sequels worked out most of them quite nicely. Here, you don't have to worry so much about running out of ammo or health. The story is also good too, as you are thrown right in the middle of a zombie shoot out during an excellent movie sequence that is a vast improvement over the lame opening in the first movie. You are Jill Valentine, and you must escape the zombie filled city and yes, this game would have been better titled Biohazard as quite a lot of the action takes place out in the streets. I do not know why they needed to call this series Resident Evil. Well you must go to various places, do some puzzles and things of this like. Sounds like part two and in a way they share some similarities. However, it differs in one regard in that there is a titan like monster on your tail and this ramps up the tension level when it starts chasing you all over the place. So you basically move from place to place being stalked by this beast along with all the other familiar foes of the Resident Evil genre. Jill can collect a wide range of weapons, and once you have won the game you can play a cool survival mini game so all in all this game is a must for those who like the horror survival type games.

The dread is gone, we're an action movie now. You want scares? Have some body horror. You want to be able to move more like a human? Blessed quick turn is here, alongside dodges that work when they damn well please. Explosions? Fire? Final stands? Yes to all three and add superweapons while you're at it.

It's fascinating playing the original games in order. There are elements here that are awesome and would fit right in with the spookier predecessors (ammo crafting, a dedicated map button, more notes/lore) but it's in an entry that's anything but similar. Fortunately it kind of works, especially with the knowledge that the series would, eventually, return to its creepier roots.

Nemesis is a great antagonist. Brutish and rather one-dimensional on the surface, yet him following you through doors takes away the feeling of safety effectively. There is not one player unleashed on Racoon City but two, and the other has a thing for killing S. T. A. R. S personnel. Unlucky.

The other characters don't really bring anything new to the table. It's neat to see Jill again, but a strength of the series is its ability to bring newbies in the fold, giving a sense of a larger world. She already passed her first crucible, I want to see someone else get traumatised, thanks. The other integral character, Carlos, is dull as a brick, especially coming from the Remake.

The game, like many other Resident Evils, is very front loaded. The initial section in downtown/uptown is glorious; my run was mostly chaos with serendipitous progress, the way every RE game should be. It does funnel into a much more linear experience halfway through, and the choice system, while fun, doesn't do enough to spruce up the variables.

I also had around 3-4x the amount of ammo I ended up using by the end. One day I won't save my magnum rounds to cheese the final boss. One day.

Now, finally, I can complain about the clock tower absence in the Remake. I didn't particularly care for it in the game (cool, mini-mansion atmosphere but way too short), but I simply have to join in with the rabble. Closer and closer every day to becoming a true fan.

Still has the spirit of the original Resident Evil. Nemesis is pry the best villian I have seen next to the original Tyrant. This is a must-have to any gamer. The survival horror genre has just gotten better than ever due to this game.

This game just keeps on exceeding itself.

It thought Resident Evil 2 was good but this is just amazing. The game play is awsome and graphic and sound are one of the best I have seen on playstation 1.I cant wait to try out the new Resident Evil:code Veronica on playstation 2.

My advice to you is,go and buy all the Resident Evil games from number one and to Code Veronica to get the whole story,its only then you really can appreciate the game.You will be surprised how adictiv and scary this game really is.

RE3 is a great sequel that completes the second chapter of Resident Evil. It sets a clear path for RE4, that should be one of the final games. Graphics and voice have improved, and gameplay is as good as ever. Great fun!

This game is, if not better, as great as the sequel! Nemesis kept me running the whole time, and the new choice features adds a new twist! More random encounters makes the game different every time you play! It left me panting for more!
