The Doors: Dance on Fire

This is the best Doors video out there, with excellent song selection and great visuals to back up all those rich and striking images that pervade Doors lyrics. What a job Ray Manzarek did with L.A. Woman, which was new video material. Also really cool are the Wild Child dance and the b/w Crystal Ship swim with Morrison. The big Doors appearances on Ed Sullivan and Jonathan Winters are included as well as promo clips and concert footage. Dance on Fire is The Best Part of The Trip!

My Dad was a fan of The Doors growing up in the 1960's and I had not heard of them previously.

I was more into 80's and 90's music growing up.

Dad came across this in the local video store and rented it for 1 week.

I liked The Doors and I liked all their music videos on this tape including classics such as Break on Through, Light My Fire, Roadhouse Blues, L. A. Woman, People are Strange, Wild Child, The Unknown Soldier, The Crystal Ship, Love Me Two Times, and many more.

I do wish Dad bought this on VHS but unfortunately he could no longer find it. It certainly would have been played countless times in our house.

To this day now, he had me hooked on The Doors and I still enjoy listening to their music.

The Doors are one of my favorite rock groups ever assembled, and the combined efforts of Ray Manzarek, John Densmore, Robby Kreiger, and James Douglas Morrison will always have a lasting effect on future fans of rock and roll. This compilation- Dance on Fire- includes their best stuff, and while there may have been one or two songs I wanted on it (i.e. "Five to One" or "The Ghost Song") it is essential for fans to have this. Their one and only appearance on the Ed Sullivan show, playing "Light My Fire", the original promo clip for "Unknown Soldier", a live performance of "The End", and songs like "Break on Through" and "L.A. Woman" are immediate reasons to get this, even if you're just a casual listener of The Doors. Even the small moments of Jim's poetry thrown in between some of the songs is of great interest. A+

I purchased this video seven years ago and I feel that my money was very well spent because it showcases many of the Doors' greatest performances. I enjoy every minute that I spend watching it because it's a very good way to remember the musical legacy of Jim Morrison and The Doors. A must have for any fan.

I bought my first VCR in 1985, and this is my first pre-recorded VCR tape. I still watch it a lot. All the clips are top notch, especially The Unknown Soldier, which I first saw on a Hy Lit show (people from Philly and N.E. PA remember this show) and Touch Me, that came from a broadcast of The Smothers Brothers show in 1969 which I saw on TV live when I was nine years old. My videotape is very worn now, from so much play. This is a great experience for all Doors fans.
