The creation of this series arose partially from the production difficulties with the series,
Bonkers (1993). It was suggested since the title character was supposed to be star of cartoon shorts, then it would be logical to produce some to compliment the series. This idea was accepted and combined with the then unused film rights to the Belgian comic strip, "Marsupilami," and the original satirical series, "Totally Tasteless Videos" to create the overall series. Since the production of this series was shorter than "Bonkers," this allowed the title character to be introduced to the public before his main series began.
