Stunning performance by Plisetskaya!

Columbia Pictures released this in the U. S. in 1960. They replaced the Russian narration with a wonderful English version giving background information about Tchaikovsky, Bolshoi Ballet and the performers. Unfortunately none of the DVD releases include the English narration. In fact they replace the Russian with nothing. So we are left with a bunch of still pics of Tchaikovsky and the Tchaikovsky museum and unknown people who i am sure were concerned with the initial production. Whoever was responsible for this should be fired!

Nevertheless this is still the Swan Lake against which all other performances must be compared. This despite the abreviated version it is. Plisetskaya's performance has never been equalled!

If anyone knows of the original Columbia released with the English narration, please let everyone know where it can be seen.
