Netflix’s latest Brazil slate includes a series set in the world of Mma; another about the iconic Brazilian football team of the 1970s; a movie spin-off of the Sintonia series; and documentaries about soccer stars Neymar and Ronaldinho. The streamer has also greenlit its first local horror movie and first wildlife doc.

New films include an untitled drama about the Elize Matsunaga case, in which Matsunaga killed and dismembered her husband—a case that was previously the subject of Netflix’s 2021 docuseries Elize Matsunaga: Once Upon a Crime. Netflix has also greenlit Fazenda Colonial, a Brazilian horror movie that follows a group of friends on an ill-fated trip to an old farm.

Teen crime drama Sintonia ran to five seasons and Netflix said its film spin-off will continue the story. The series has been the biggest franchise on Netflix’s Brazilian service.

Topher Grace has been praised by The Waterfront's creator for his commitment and performance in the upcoming Netflix series. Inspired by true events, The Waterfront depicts the struggling Buckley family running a fishing business in North Carolina. They have to resort to risky and drastic measures to keep their lives and empire afloat. The first images from The Waterfront have already been released, showing Mindhunter's Holt McCallany and Supergirl'sMelissa Benoist in their roles. Grace plays Grady, a shady man with a criminal past who offers the Buckleys a lifeline.

If your signals somehow got crossed and you were hoping that Netflix's The Waterfront would be a peaceful comfort show set on an idyllic locale like Virgin River, then the newly released trailer certainly uncrossed those wires. A revival series, titled That ’90s Show, debuted on Netflix in January 2023 and seven of the original stars returned for the spinoff. Unfortunately, the spinoff was canceled after 2 seasons.

The Rocky Horror Picture Showfans have a new reason to do the Time Warp. The cult classic movie will be receiving a special 4K restoration to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

Deadline reports that the new 4K Uhd restoration of The Rocky Horror Picture Show will be released in theaters across the United States, after tireless work to restore it for over ten months by the Walt Disney Studios Restoration team. Ashton Kutcher’s statement during the hearing of alleged repeat murderer Michael Gargiulo made headlines across Tinseltown in 2019. The performer, most recognized for his performances in That ’70s Show and Two and a Half Men, landed in the witness stand, recalling a haunting memory from 2001.

At that time, the U.S. entertainer had planned an outing with Ashley Ellerin, a 22-year-old style scholar. He showed up at her Hollywood bungalow to pick her up, but things quickly went sideways. According to Fox 11, he showed up tardy, roughly at 10:30 p.m., after attempting (and not succeeding) to contact Ellerin via telephone. The lamps were illuminated within her residence, yet nobody responded to the entrance.

He peeked through another window and saw what he “thought was a red wine spilled on the carpet”—an odd, but harmless sight.

Topher Grace is giving inside details about his friendship with That ’70s Show costar Wilmer Valderrama.

The 46-year-old actor, who played Eric on the hit sitcom, recently reflected on his bond with Wilmer, who played the role of Fez in the series from 1998-2006.

“You and I had this incredible connection from day one. I mean, you and I really became best friends right off the bat,” Topher said while on Wilmer‘s podcast “Dos Amigos.”

Netflix will shoot a pilot for A Different World, a sequel to the 1987 sitcom, which will chronicle Dwayne and Whitley’s daughter’s time at an Hbcu. As Deadline reported exclusively in August, the project had been in development at the streamer since last year, and the commissioning of the pilot is part of that process. A rep for Netflix declined comment.

This is the second known pilot pickup at Netflix, whose business is built on straight-to-series orders. In 2023, the streamer ordered another comedy, the single-camera Little Sky, to pilot, whose production was impacted by the WGA strike. It ultimately didn’t go to series.

Brian James, founding guitarist and songwriter of seminal British punk group The Damned who later played with Stiv Bators in The Lords of the New Church, died Thursday. He was 70. His family confirmed the news in a Facebook post.
