Kresten's dad dies and he returns to the farm on Lolland to take care of things, including his developmentaly-challenged brother. He employs a hooker as maid. He loses his wife and job due to lies. The maid's kid brother moves in and they're a family of 4.

Kresten has moved from his parents' farm on a small Danish island to Copenhagen to pursue his career. When his father dies he must move back to the farm, where nothing much has happened since he left. He places an ad in the local newspaper to get help with running the farm and looking after his mentally-challenged brother. A prostitute named Liva answers the ad, keen to get away from annoying telephone calls. But running away from your past isn't easy.—Allan Simonsen

On honeymoon with his boss's daughter, Kresten learns that his father has died. He's hidden his family from his bride, so she's surprised. He also hides from her that he has a brother Rud, who's blood simple. Kresten goes to the family farm and looks for a care-giver for Rud. Liva, a prostitute, takes the job to escape phone harassment from an anonymous psychopath and for money to pay her brother Bjarke's school tuition. When Kresten's wife breaks off the marriage because of his lies and Bjarke is expelled for bad behavior, Liva, Kresten, Rud, and Bjarke find themselves connecting.
