My mother saw this movie when she was very young, in cinema, with her father. There were many instances, when she couldn't understand this movie at that time, but there were ample moments in the movie, which specially captured her attention, and after more than 5 decades she watched that movie again today to understand the true beauty of it. She loves this movie and according to her the characters are put into life by the amazing acting of Dilip Kumar and Nargis.

Very down to earth story line; sublime performance by both Nargis and Dilip Kumar; heart warming music and sobering tragedy is how one can sum up this movie. A classic by any standard in Indian movies. Dilip Kumar is young and looks breathtakingly cute.
