The amoral world of Nelson Rodrigues, the house of perdition!!

Once a while I usually revisit the work of the contentious writer Nelson Rodrigues, always expecting spicy stories from the fertile imagination of the poet of sin, in Os Sete Gatinhos he was the co-producer, whoever is about to watch Nelson Rodrigues ought to bearing in mind that he portraited what he saw thru the years as journalist on Rio de Janeiro covering countless freakish cases whereby he withdraw and turned it into several plays addressed to theatres, of course Nelson overdid it in their own manner.

Here Nelson Rodrigues exposes a life of low public servant Noronha (Lima Duarte) living at Rio de Janeiro's suburban with his fatty wife and five daughters, four of them are already adults and have been sailing their bodies for money, such facts are unnoticed by Noronha, when he finally figures out that all daughters are actually bit.ches he enters in panic, worst his underage girl is pregnant by a married man, then Noronha tries wondering who are the perpetrator of such misery, he sees thru a mirror an unknown man which cries for one eye only, aftermaths he looking for this man.

Fed up he throws it all up, dropped his job and hereinafter starts selling their own daughter for whom can pay, becoming his house in a whorehouse, however the unexpected came up faster he ever imagined when Bibelô (Antonio Fagundes) a kind of womanizer guy reaches there, in fact he was the guy that got pregnancy his underage daughter, then he supposes that Bibelô is unknown man who ruined his sacred home, thus a revenge is coming...

We can face it as sexploitation of Brazilian cinema, although won't exactly as many others whatsoever, it has many things underneath, the cunning director Neville de Almeida was a upper-class filmmaker, to improve it many gorgeous actress were casting as Ana Maria Magalhães, Sura Berditchevisky, Sonia Dias, Cristina Aché and the upcoming star Regina Casé as the most foul-mouthed Noronha's daughter, also his busty sassy wife Thelma Reston, moreover funniest characters as the crooked doctor Bordalo played by Claudio Correia e Castro and the harmful per.vert Saul (Sadi Cabral) should be funny if it wasn't tragic!!

Thanks for reading.

Brazilian Sexploitation

I've seen this movie a long time ago in an obscure Brazilian movie cable channel, its a cheap exploitation movie, with lots of nudity and sex thrown into the movie for no reason at all, not that I'm against that, I'm no hypocrite, just that these are all blunt, poorly-done sex scenes, that range from masturbation (the mother in the bed), to pedophilia (when noronha allows an old man to " pay a visit" to his younger daughter in her own room), to the shocking situation of having a father using his own daughters as prostitutes. But this movie has a satirical message in its heart, for all i known, its about the crumbling and the decadence of a traditional family's core and overall family values in the modern days and the hypocrisy that lies underneath the family's institution, with some cries for sexual liberation, during a time when Brazil was under a repressive military dictatorship...Despite the clumsiness of its social commentary and the trashy sexual aspects, it provides some moments of weird comedy, like the erect penises the mother (simply referred as "Gorda"-Fat) paints in the bathroom walls (since noronha cant provide her with any pleasure no more), to the climatic scene where noronha (the father)completely loses his mind because of their daughters's throwaway sexual behavior and throws his puritanism out the window, forcing the girls to "work" for him, using their own house as a whorehouse! Lima Duarte's performance is what stands in this movie that doesn't belong to the sex department, and it surprised me, since I've only seen this actor playing more straight-edged, conventional characters on some Brazilian soap operas and Portuguese/Brazilian movies (like his magnificent role of Padre António Vieira on "Palavra e Utopia"). Here, he gives a maniacal portrait of a family man that starts the movie as an overprotective father and then crumbles into a complete pervert, shedding his false morals. Not a great movie, but if you like cheap trashy cinema, you might get a look outside the john waters realm...

Grotesque and mysoginous sexploitation/pornochanchada

Disgusting and grotesque mysoginous text by Nelson Rodrigues. However, Neville D'Almeida directs very well and Edson Santos's cinematography is very beautiful, making Seven Kittens a unique pornochanchada (Brazilian sexploitation genre). Ridiculous trash gore end.

A really great Brazillian movie!

This is an really good example of movie! It's not like that cheesy comedies like "American Pie", "Scary Movie"; it's also not that kind of silly super-hero movies like "Matrix", "xXx" and another craps. This is almost like a real documentary of the real life. It's that kind of movie that you need to watch to wake up for certain things.Non-Brazilian people, follow my advice: Watch this movie - it's a classic! Since the beginning, until the end, the situations starts to happen all the time; a lot of comic situations. A lot of tragic, or horrible, situations. And it's really great! One last advice: If you wish to learn and understand a bit more from the brazillian society, you should watch this. May you became disappointed about the brazillian society after that...
