Good Movie. Everybody acted good in the movie. Songs and BGM in the movie were good. The movie did not lagged a lot. The movie somewhat lagged a lot at some scenes in 1st half. This movie is one of the Best Movie of Kamal Haasan. Good Movie.

Karan as the villain or impudent college guy irritates that you feel like hitting him. Thats where he scores as the real baddie. In the encounters between Karan and Kamal, Karan scores more than Kamal. No wonder why Karan can bag good roles today.

Nagesh at his best with comedy as well as his solo dance mourning over the death of his daughter. Kamal as the College Professor fits in perfectly. Gautahami and Srividhya as usual do their role as a piece of cake. A little exaggeration on the how the college is run by the baddies. Mahesh as the music director scores in "Sorgam Enbathu" & "Poonkuil Paadinal" Song. Good movie. Worth a watch.

I would recommend this movie to all Kamal fans. This movie certainly is a good watch.

The performances of Kamal, Gautami and Nagesh are simply superb. Kamal comes as a young professor who wants to make a difference and deliver a moral message to his students. The film gives a good picture of the problems faced by today's students.Kamal's character "Selvam" is certainly the dream-professor of any college student(including myself). His cool attitude and straight-forward talk is admirable.The professor himself battling a deadly disease wants to lead a meaningful life, though short and strives to put some sense into everyone he meets. The music is OK. I wouldn't call it the best movie of Kamal, but You can watch it just for the character "Selvam".

Awesome movie!! Kamal sir shining in every scene,characterization is perfect in this movie...gowthami,Karan,nagesh (national award winner for this character) ,Sri vidya,brinda master.. everyone perfect.. especially nagesh sir awesome performance and karan...Karan is a step over in karan & Kamal combo scenes... finally Worth watch..

Nammavar is like a documentary. On top of it, you have kamal hamming all the way through. It requires lot of patience to sit thro; this film. NO wonder, it was a huge flop at the box office.

Nagesh is the only saving grace of this film. Music is ordinary. There were reports that kamal ghost directed the movie since the director Sethumadhavan & the producer had some differences.

Kamal himself said later that this movie was "6 months waste of time" while reviewing his movies in the tamil mag "Bommai".

This is the kind of film Kamal should have steered clear of, but instead he revels in it. Simply unbearable as the smart-alec professor, Kamal's character is in terrible cliche mode right from the word go. Gautami is sweet, as always, perhaps one reason you should sit through. Music by Mahesh sucks.
