Pigeonholed

Just awful. Who put up good money to make such a pointless and amatuer film? Who did the actors owe favors to appear in this? Makes you wonder, doesn't it? Indie film cliches (as well as film school too) abound in this "drama" about some whiny annoying and "misunderstood" characters. The direction, especially of the actors, is so poor that I wonder if he was aware while filming. Fans of prententious amatuer filmmaking wont want to miss!

I thought this movie showed a very interesting look on what it is like to grow up in a rich and sheltered community. I guess the saying holds true that you are 'a product of your environment.' For the Swanhaus Brothers' first feature it should that they had a vision and insight into a world that few experience and hopefully will not. The cast and directing could not have been better for a small budget independent film.

Pigeonholed has real significance as it is one of Justin Pierce's last films before he took his own life. This is one disturbing film that you should check out if you get a chance.

What a treat. It is rare that such young filmmakers can pull off such a film. I just revisited this hidden gem and was amazed at its staying power. Bravo. Looking forward to more from this director. What's next? We are all waiting. Keep up the great work. Phenomenal performances and a truly heartwrenching climax carry this film to great heights. Why was it so difficult to get my hands on? I am rarely moved to tears. R.I.P. Justin- it is a shame that your promising career came to such an early end. We will miss you, and forever cherish your existing body of work. We need more indies like Pigeonholed. What ever happened to the true New York independent film? Will it be resurrected?

I watched this film and was very emotional involed in the characters, their stories and their backgrounds. I think that the deapth that the film makers went into teenage life within a particular community was evoking and exciting. Even though I have never known characters like these I was compeled to undersdtand what kind of life it means to be a "f***ed up kid " growing up in a rich, suburban enviroment. The actors also were incredable in thier performance.

Angst....boo hoo. It's like the filmmaker's had IDEAS of what emotions are like by watching other movies and not understanding them at all.

The audience can't believe a word of it. Synthetic, saccharine, and pompous. Way overly stylized, to boot. Even the music is pretentious and obvious. Some usually good actors are wasted here. "Pigeonholed", I have learned, is the reason why features films aren't allowed at NYU film school anymore for thesis projects.
