The Snowman fringes had drawn so much attention to the film that commercial success was guaranteed upon general release. What happened was nothing but this. The movie Snowman became the most popular and best-selling movie of 1376 by attracting more than 4,473,000 viewers and selling 583 million Tomans (with an average ticket of 1,311 Rials) with a huge difference compared to the following movies.

It is enough to note that the number of viewers of the Snowman movie was 2.37 times that of the second most popular movie of that year. The scope of the film's success in attracting the general audience continued even until 1377, so that in that year, Adam Barfi attracted 578 thousand 567 viewers and took the 14th place of the most talked about films of that year, compared to the number of viewers who saw The Snowman in cinemas. Exceed 5 million people.

First off, you gotta realize the entire culture, ideological oppression, trauma and hopes and dreams of average Iranians in that era in Iran which still continues in much darker ways today.

This movie was banned for 3 years for portraying such taboo topics (now they might seem innocent in comparison) in a foreign location like Istanbul. There was no movie like this ever made in Iran when it came out. It stood out, made a buzz and triggered many.

Secondly, almost no Iranian movies are available in any decent quality in the country, even if you wanna purchase it officially. So you have to factor that.

The dialogues in the movie that almost always rhymes comically in persian are literally untranslatable to the western audience no matter how you put it. They have become catch phrases to many. So, when it comes to translation, much like poetry, the humor here has no chance of survival.

Having watched it on big screen upon its release in a time that almost every bit of ''fun'' was publicly frowned upon in Iran, I still feel the aura and the nostalgia of the time.

The movie masterfully depicts the agony of a man at the end of his rope, having to deal with the senseless sharks profiting from such ordeals in an alien location. The acting is great all around, the music gives me shivers and the storyline is solid.

I had to make an account just to write this review cause this movie lacks the recognition it deserves, at least here on IMDB.

maybe they had low budget that is why the picture quality is very bad, i watched it on DVD, everything is so blurry.

some the acting was good, especially the female maid in the hotel. This film didn't make me laugh at all, i was busy reading the English subtitles. it is more like a drama than a comedy.

it would be a better film if the picture quality wasn't so bad. it is always fun to see films about people living in other countries, to learn about their life, problems, etc.

This movie is a comedy/romantic/drama and you can't stop laughing until the end of the movie! The movie's about a guy who is trying to immigrate to USA using illegal ways and the only way for him to get to USA is to become a WOMAN and marry an American guy! CHECK-IT-OUT Yourself!
