Das Heimweh des Walerjan Wróbel

1939: Walerian Wrobel just reached 16 years of age, as the German occupying might , forces him to leave is homeland poland, his family and his beloved farm. He is forced to slave labor at a farm near the northern city of Bremen. Walerian is getting homesick very quickly, since he recives a very uncompassionate treatment from the owners. He decides to burn one of the barns, in the naive assumption, that the authorities will send him home. His hope is dashed, when he ends up in in the Neuengamme concentration camp, awaiting trial for sabotage against the fatherland. After 9 month he recives the death penalty by guillotine. The acting and the recreation or the time period is well build up. This movie is underrated and deserves to reach a much larger audience. Rolf Schuebel writes: None of the Germans Walerian met, had personally much against him. But they also didn't feel anything for him, and that is terrible.
