Rigoletto

This film was one of my childhood favorites. And when I watched it again as an adult, I still found it to be quite enjoyable. It is the music that makes this film. And despite the obviously weak subplots, Rigoletto is a beauty film with a beautiful meaning.

I adore this movie. It is a very good movie with great music. I have watched it so much my tape needs to be replaced. I found the plot charming when I was younger and the songs delightful. When I began voice lessons the songs from this movie were some of the first I learned. Rigoletto is a little-known fairytale that comes to life in this movie. It has some humor mixed in through Hans the butler and the pig farmer who is very protective of his pigs and claims they are people too. There is a bit of violence, but it is not shown that much and is necessary for the movie. The lesson, that everyone should look inside themselves for that "hidden melody" and that getting the whole story instead of jumping to conclusions and making a rash action, is much needed today. I would definitely recommend seeing it and sharing it with the children and adults in your life.

What's good about this film is that it understates fairyland's case. It isn't pedantic. It leaves the trip to fairyland as an exercise for the student. It doesn't draw lines between the dots.

In the jaded postmodern era, a film like that's to be highly praised, whatever its other flaws.

This movie is magical. I watched it with my little cousin when all the adults and older kids were watching a pg-13 movie, I told her I would watch a movie with her and when she said Rigoletto I about died. I thought how can I survive an hour and a half of FFF torture. But I loved it!!! I made all the adults watch it the next morning and everyone enjoyed it. I was like watching a play in a theater. You are allowed to let the kid inside shine through and just get wrapped up in the story. It is truely a movie for the whole family.

I have seen this movie probably about 50 times, and I love it so much! I quote it all the time to my friends and family, and it is just a wonderful story! I just wish that there was more of a biography on the actors/actresses, because they all did such a wonderful job! There are splendid characters in the story, and the movie is funny--and inspiring at the same time! If any of the actors see this page, you should fill in a little bit of a biography about everyone. It would be nice to know more about you.
