Veteran character actor Gabriel Olds was arrested in Los Angeles on Wednesday and has been charged with seven felony sexual assault charges, according to the LAPD. Doc NYC, America’s largest documentary festival and staple of the New York film community, announced the lineup for its 11th edition, running online November 11-19 and available to viewers across the US. The program includes new films about John Belushi, Pope Francis, Bill T. Jones, Jamal Khashoggi, Martin Luther King, Jr., Frank Zappa, and many more. The 2020 festival lineup includes 107 feature-length documentaries among over 200 films and dozens of events. Included are 23 World Premieres, 12 international or North American premieres, and 7 US premieres. The first all-virtual edition of the Doc NYC festival of nonfiction films announced its 2020 lineup on Thursday, with 107 feature documentaries about everyone from John Belushi to Jamal Khashoggi and Pope Francis to Frank Zappa,

The lineup for the festival, which runs from Nov. 11 through Nov. 19 and will take place completely online, includes 23 world premieres, among them Petra Epperlein and Michael Tucker’s “The Meaning of Hitler,” Nancy Burski’s “A Crime on the Bayou,” Gong Cheng and Yung Chang’s “Wuhan Wuhan” and Jeff Daniels’ “Television Event.”

Doc NYC, which launched in 2010, is the largest festival of nonfiction films in the United States. This year the festival transitioned to a completely online event separated into 14 themed sections, two of which are competitive sections that will award prizes.

Amy Lemisch is exiting her post as California Film Commissioner after 15 years on the job.

Lemisch will leave the state agency on May 10. Gov. Gavin Newsom, who took office in January after Jerry Brown was termed out, could announce her replacement soon. Newsom’s office did not respond to a request for comment.

Lemisch was appointed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2004 and re-appointed by Brown. Prior to the appointment, Lemisch worked as a producer with Penny Marshall’s Parkway Productions. Her credits include producer on “With Friends Like These”; co-producer on “Riding in Cars With Boys,” “The Preacher’s Wife” and “Renaissance Man”; and associate producer on “A League of Their Own,” “Awakenings” and “Calendar Girl.”

During the latter years of Schwarzenegger’s tenure, which ended in 2011, Lemisch was part of the campaign to boost tax credits in California to combat runaway production, resulting in an annual allocation of $100 million.

Penny Marshall, who went from starring on the smash Happy Days spinoff Laverne & Shirley to helming such features including Big and A League of Their Own, died Monday night of diabetes complications at her home in the Hollywood Hills. She was 75.

Marshall also directed films including Riding in Cars with Boys, The Preacher’s Wife, Jumpin’ Jack Flash and Renaissance Man, which she also produced along with League of Their Own. She was in postproduction on a feature about basketball Hall of Famer and Kim Jong-un pal Dennis Rodman.

Calendar Girls focuses on five girls who hail from different regions of India, and who have been selected to pose for the country’s most prestigious annual calendar. The roles of five girls have been played by Akanksha Puri, Kyra Dutt, Satarupa Pyne, Avani Modi, Ruhi Singh and Suhel Seth.

But where is it? Even he would like to see if there is any in Calendar Girls because as far as he knows, he hasn't directed any such scene for the film, least of it including it in the promo and then sending it out to the Censors no less. It looks like Madhur Bhandarkar has got quite a tantalizing film lined up for release. His next feature Calendar Girl, which comes after the fiasco that was his last release Heroine and the aborted attempt to start another film Madamjee starring Priyanka Chopra, is suffused in sufficient slivers of sensationalism.

Sources at the Censor Board Of Film Certification (Cbfc) reveal that the film's first trailer was submitted for certification. And the results were....explosive!

Says a source, "The trailer contains a lot of provocative and sensuous content. There was even a shot of nude woman which we had to of course snip off before granting the trailer a 'U/A' certificate. We don't know how or why Bhandarkar came to us with a trailer that contained a nude shot. He should know that such a shot can never be passed in a trailer."

New Delhi, July 1: Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar has squashed reports that he is making any movie titled "Calendar Girl", and that he has approached model-turned-actress Deepika Padukone for the lead role.

Twentieth Century Fox releases Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son in UK cinemas on February 16. A new poster has been sent over (see above), while the trailer is included below.

This time, Turner is joined by his teenage stepson Trent as they go undercover at an all-girls performing arts school after Trent witnesses a murder. Posing as Big Momma and as hefty co-ed Charmaine, they must find the murderer before he finds them.

Brandon T Jackson (Tropic Thunder, Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief) steps into the role of Trent for this film; the role was previously played by Jascha Washington.

Faizon Love plays Kurtis Kool, the school's janitor who has a likeness for fat women and falls for Big Momma.

She quit modeling and became a police officer in Milwaukee, Wisconsin but hit headlines again when she was convicted of murdering her then-husband, Milwaukee Police Department detective Elfred 'Fred' Schultz's ex-wife, Christine Schultz, in 1981. Bembenek escaped prison in 1990 with the help of an incarcerated boyfriend and was on the run for three months until she was captured in Canada. She was nicknamed 'Bambi' by the media during the chase.

She was holed up in an apartment to prevent her from talking to other press, but Bembenek suffered a panic attack while in hiding and tried to escape by climbing out of a window. She fell and injured her foot so badly it had to be amputated.

Bembenek is survived by two sisters, Melanie and Colette.
