Survival Competition Series ‘Extracted’ Lands At Fox As Anthony Anderson Leads ‘The Real Full Monty’
Image
Fox is staying in the survival business.

The network, which airs Special Forces: The World’s Toughest Test, has ordered another survival competition series – Extracted.

Giving few details about the show, the network said “for the first time ever, the contestants are not in charge of their destiny”.

It comes from Sony Pictures Television’s B17 Entertainment, Sylvester Stallone’s Balboa Productions and Fox Entertainment.

B17 was founded by Brien Meagher and Rhett Bachner and is behind series such as Roku’s Thanks A Million and Netflix’s History of Swear Words.

Stallone’s Balboa, which has a first-look deal with Amazon Studios, is known for its scripted TV and movies including Paramount+’s Tulsa King and features including Scavenger Hunt and Lost On a Mountain In Maine. It is also behind Stallone’s reality series The Family Stallone.

Elsewhere on Fox’s unscripted slate, which also saw The Floor handed a two-season renewal,...

Sylvester Stallone’s Mom Left His “Caveman” Dad for Another Man Because He Allegedly Wouldn’t Stop Eating Raw Sparrows and Rabbit Entrails
Image
Famous for his larger-than-life roles in classic films like Rocky and Rambo and, of course, his good looks, Sylvester Stallone’s family has also shared some of his famous spotlights along the way. Did you know that his real life is just as fascinating as his character on screen?

The relationship between his father, Frank Stallone Sr., and his mother, Jackie Stallone, has been quite interesting. Eventually, Stallone’s mother had had enough. The unceasing squawking, the feathers all over the place, and most of all, the uncooked sparrows were becoming intolerable to the late astrologist.

Sylvester Stallone in Cobra (1986)

Indeed, his mother had gone extremely crazy over her ex-husband’s strange obsession with “raw sparrows” and “rabbit entrails”. The Guardian reported that Stallone’s late father used to consume “raw sparrows and rabbit entrails” and resembled a caveman. The actor’s mother, who was presumably sick of sparrows and entrails,...

How Carl Weathers’ Apollo Creed Changed Rocky’s History
Image
Carl Weathers' role as Apollo Creed in the Rocky series made him a timeless figure, bringing him a degree of immortality. Apollo's presence in the series, both in life and death, has been as powerful as that of Sylvester Stallone's Rocky Balboa. Apollo's legacy lives on through his son in the Creed film series, which explores the lasting repercussions of his death.

Carl Weathers was so closely identified with the role of Apollo Creed in the Rocky film series throughout his career that when Weathers died at the age of 76, it was as if Apollo died a second time. While Weathers successfully reinvented himself as a television director and veteran character actor in his later career, the actor achieved timelessness through the Rocky series, in which he was 28 when the first Rocky film was released in 1976.

As the Rocky film series, in which Weathers appears opposite titular series star...

Creed 4's Michael B. Jordan Update Breaks The Franchise's 8-Year Trend
Image
Michael B. Jordan is directing Creed 4, making it the first movie in the Rocky franchise to have the same director for consecutive films. Jordan's decision to direct Creed 4 elevates his presence in the Rocky franchise, as he joins Sylvester Stallone and John G. Avildsen as one of the few directors to helm multiple films in the series. Creed 4's continuation with Jordan as director is exciting news following the success of Creed 3, which featured a compelling villain and unique fight sequences. Expectations are high for Creed 4 to deliver a great villain and push the boundaries even further.

The latest update for Michael B. Jordan and Creed 4 means the franchise is breaking an eight-year trend. Michael B. Jordan took on an elevated role in regard to the Creed franchise with the third installment. Not only was it the first movie not to include Sylvester Stallone's...

Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky Prequel Plan Has An Impossible Challenge To Overcome
Image
Sylvester Stallone has mapped out a prequel show for the Rocky movies, exploring Rocky's backstory and historical events of the 1960s. However, the biggest challenge is featuring a 17-year-old version of Rocky since it's impossible to de-age Stallone and recasting may lead to other problems. Recasting someone else to play Rocky may not be worth it, as Stallone has become synonymous with the character and it's hard to imagine anyone else in the role.

Sylvester Stallone has some compelling ideas for a Rocky prequel but executing them may be an impossible feat. Expanding the Rocky franchise in a whole new direction, the Creed movies did an incredible job at recreating the boxing-centric passion, drama, and action that drove the original movies. Sylvester Stallone, too, appeared in two Creed films to portray how, despite hanging his boxing gloves after 2006's Rocky Balboa, Rocky can still leave his mark in the boxing...

10 Rocky & Creed Characters The Boxing Franchise Seriously Underused
Image
Adrian, the female lead in the original Rocky movie, was seriously underused throughout the franchise, with her role becoming smaller in each subsequent film. Robert Balboa, Rocky's son, was mostly just an annoying kid with little significance in the plot until he was properly utilized in Rocky Balboa. However, he has been completely ignored in the Creed movies. Characters like Tommy "The Machine" Gunn, Mason "The Line" Dixon, Marie, Steps, "Pretty" Ricky Conlan, Bianca, Tony "Little Duke" Evers, and Jacob "Stitch" Duran were also underused and deserved more development and screen time.

The Rocky franchise has introduced some of the most beloved heroes and villains in cinematic history, but despite this, these 10 Rocky and Creed characters were seriously underused. With nine films under its belt, it would be expected that the Rocky franchise could properly explore each character it introduces. However, this doesn't seem to be the case, and here...

Why 1982 Had the Best Movie Summer Ever
Image
When some of us were kids, there was no Internet. You actually had to buy the paper or go to your local movie theater and see what they were playing and what show you were planning to attend. Reserved seats? Think again. Going to see your favorite film was a mix of stale popcorn, warm Coke, and large crowds trying to fit in a small room where digital projections were a dream far, far away. The summer was the same, only multiplied by vacationing crowds who sometimes only had the film theater to rest from the scorching heat.

There will never be a movie summer like 1982. It's in the books. Several blockbusters that followed up on previous entries, Spielberg dominating the industry, and horror showing why it was so huge during the '80s. You think this could be compared to the current trend of multiplexes where there's always an...

Rocky 7 Can Finally Redeem Balboa’s Real Greatest Failure
Image
If Sylvester Stallone ever makes Rocky 7, then the Rocky franchise can finally redeem Rocky Balboa's greatest failure. It's been over fifteen years since Stallone starred in Rocky Balboa, the last standalone film featuring his most famous character touching gloves one last time to prove that he still has what it takes in the ring. Given Stallone's absence in Creed 3, the first time he hasn't appeared in a Rocky movie for 47 years, fans have been left wondering what's next for The Italian Stallion, and they're hoping it involves a seventh film in the Rocky franchise.

Even though Stallone wrote and starred in the first Rocky, the rights to the character belong to Irwin Winkler, and that isn't likely to change any time soon. If Stallone had his way, he'd be making Rocky 7 right now between filming his new reality show and The Tulsa King, because there's still some unfinished...

7 Rocky Characters Who Can Return In Creed 4 (Including Stallone)
Image
Warning: Contains Spoilers for Creed III!

Creed IV is officially happening, and there are seven key characters from the Rocky franchise that could return for the next Creed movie. Creed IV will follow up on the events of Creed III, most likely exploring Adonis Creed's ever-growing boxing empire, as well as further delving into his relationship with his family. There are plenty of Rocky characters that could turn up in Creed IV, and here are some of the most likely candidates.

Creed is a continuation of the beloved Rocky series, with the spin-off movies focusing on the son of Apollo Creed, Adonis. The Creed movies feature all kinds of legacy characters from the original Rocky movies, including Sylvester Stallone's Rocky Balboa. Despite Creed and Creed II bringing back multiple nostalgic characters in major roles, Creed III hardly featured any Rocky characters, seriously toning this aspect of the revival down.

After another triumphant weekend at the box office, the sports drama brought in $12 million across 75 markets. This brings its global box office cume to an exceptional $224.3 million, with international markets contributing to $96.6 million of the overall figure. Despite a 50% drop off during its third week in theaters, the film has clobbered the previous installments in the spin-off series. Creed, the first entry in the new tale, racked up a total of $173.5 million globally whilst Creed II rounded off its run with a worldwide total of $213.5 million.
