I'm not quite sure if this is the same movie the other reviewer saw. I reckon, this movie is one of Jaclyn Smith's best performances.

It's not a typical "Jaclyn Smith" melodrama. It's deep, and disturbing. It's actually a welcome change from Smith, who's become so popular as Sidney Sheldon or Danielle Steel's poster-girl-- sort of, for appearing in so many of their miniseries.

The movie itself is excellent in every angle particularly the last half hour. The "kitchen scene"is particularly excellent at the last part of the movie.

The production value is excellent and acting ensemble is absolutely five star in all aspects.

As a fan of Jaclyn Smith, this was one of her films I hadn't seen, and I have to say that upon viewing it was one of the most intriguing. Settle the Score is not a melodramatic film as such; it details very deep and disturbing facts that may leave viewers surprised.

Jaclyn Smith gives out a believable (if slightly flat) performance as Kathy in a role where she simply wants to take her revenge for an unforgivable event that happened to her years previously. However, the supporting cast - namely Richard Masur and Howard Duff - steal the show with their worthy performances.

A dark and brooding Jaclyn Smith TVM that stands out from other roles she has done in her career. 6/10.

This is a better than average movie for two reasons: the actors are of high quality (Howard Duff, Louise Latham, Mary Beth Hurt) and the ending- I thought it was pretty bold and brave of the writer to stick with the ultimate revelation of who the rapist/killer was. Small towns often hold shocking secrets, as we learn in this movie. Jaclyn Smith is totally adequate in the lead role, I agree with the one review which referred to her as somewhat flat, but I think that was a deliberate choice on the part of the actress. Certainly her scene with Howard Duff in the kitchen is intense, and the ending is suspenseful. Definitely worth seeing.

Don't waste your time on this boring, slow paced and dragged out movie. The story line is ridiculous and the acting even worse. I've always liked Jaclyn Smith but she is just DEADPAN in this movie. Her voice is just a flat monotone and she seems as bored as I was. The only enjoyment I got from this movie was seeing the legendary Howard Duff!!
