- In 17th century France, young Dogtanian travels to Paris to fulfill his ambition to become one of the King's Musketeers. He befriends Athos, Porthos and Aramis and falls in love with Juliette. A doggy version of the tale.
- An animated adaptation of the novel "The Three Musketeers" (1844) by Alexandre Dumas, but featuring the entire cast of characters as anthropomorphic animals. The setting is 17th-century France during the reign of Louis XIII (reigned 1610-1643). Dogtanian (D'Artagnan) is born to a relatively poor but well-connected family in Gascony. His father is an old friend of Monsieur de Treville, head of the the king's Musketeers, so Treville invites the youth to Paris for training as a new recruit. Dogtanan is attacked and robbed by a mysterious foe while on his way to Paris, but he manages to complete the journey on foot. As he starts his training, Dogtanan befriends the relatively experienced Musketeers Porthos, Athos, and Aramis. Dogtanian simply wants to court the lovely lady-in-waiting Juliette, but he is unwittingly drawn into the intrigues and power struggles of the French royal court. His initial foe turns to be Count Rochefort, one of the main henchmen of Cardinal Richelieu. Rochefort is himself a man of honor. He has no problem in facing Dogtanian in potentially deadly duels, but he prevents the boy's other foes from simply poisoning Dogtanian. He feels that poisons are a coward's weapons.—Dimos I
