It’s not every day that you come across a director who has a certain visible fetish like Quentin Tarantino. The director’s infamous scenes of feet in his movies have often been a point of discussion among fans. However, there have been directors with a more bizarre fetish than Quentin Tarantino, but they have done pretty well to hide it.
Famous directors like Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese also have a way of stylizing their movies with certain characters or plots, with the rule of “one-fits-all”. Naturally, we decided to rank them. Here is a list of famous directors who have even more bizarre fetishes than Quentin Tarantino, ranked.

The new DC Universe is off and running under the direction of DC Studios co-heads James Gunn and Peter Safran and they're wasting no time building it all out. To that end, Gunn recently announced the follow-up to this summer's "Superman," which he directed, in the form of a new movie called "Man of Tomorrow." While David Corenswet's Man of Steel will be a major character, this film is not being billed as a straight-up sequel. To that end, more heroes are seemingly joining the roster for this one.

Man of Tomorrow, filmmaker James Gunn's Superman sequel that's apparently not a sequel, arrives in theaters on July 9, 2027. Teaser art has confirmed that it will feature Superman and a War Suit-wearing Lex Luthor, but that's it for now.
A few actors and characters have been confirmed for the Dcu movie, while several others have been rumoured. As a result, this project already boasts an impressive cast, and we're recapping everything we know so far for you in one place.
We even have some possible news about the threat that unites the Man of Steel with the evil LuthorCorp CEO! You can learn more about what's to come in Man of Tomorrow...

Earlier today, DC Studios co-ceo James Gunn announced his next Dcu movie, Man of Tomorrow. We still know relatively little about what to expect from the project, but David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult have just shared two more pieces of teaser art, illustrated by Jorge Jiménez and Mitch Gerads.
The first depicts Superman standing side-by-side with Lex Luthor against an unknown foe. The second, meanwhile, shows the Man of Steel exchanging blows with his enemy.
Given how much it differs from piece to piece, the War Suit design appears open to interpretation by each artist. However, we can quite clearly see that it's meant to be the Dcu's Superman.

DC Studios unveiled the "Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters" slate at the start of 2023, and it wasn't dissimilar from Warner Bros. announcing the ill-fated Dceu lineup in 2014.
That largely revolved around the Justice League's characters. James Gunn and Peter Safran, meanwhile, have taken a more eclectic approach, with a combination of heavy-hitters like Superman and Batman, along with Supergirl, Swamp Thing, and the Creature Commandos.
While a Wonder Woman movie has since been announced, the Dark Knight remains stuck in limbo. The Batman Part II is gearing up to begin production, but that's an Elseworlds title, and clearly won't be set in the Dcu. According to Gunn, The Brave...

Superman has just been dealt another blow at the box office. Another Warner Bros. movie has knocked the DC Universe blockbuster down one more spot on the highest-grossing movies of 2025 chart.
According to BoxOfficeGuru founder Gitesh Pandya on X, the Brad Pitt-led sports drama F1 recently surpassed Superman at the worldwide box office. F1's total now stands at $607.1 million, while Superman is sitting at $606.7 million. As it stands, F1 is now ranked No. 6 on the highest-grossing movies of 2025 chart, with Superman right behind it at No. 7. However, in the long run, it likely doesn't matter which movie ends up grossing more, as both have been declared major commercial successes by distributor Warner Bros.

From Man of Steel To The Dark Knight: Who Wins The Superman vs Batman Box Office Battle? ( Photo Credit – Facebook )
For decades, Superman and Batman have stood as the crown jewels of DC’s mythology. One represents hope, the other vengeance. One is an alien god among men, the other a human who built himself into a legend. But beyond the comic panels and the big screen rivalries, fans often ask a simpler question: which hero has made more money at the movies?
The debate is closer than casual audiences may think. While Superman pioneered the superhero blockbuster back in 1978, Batman’s darker, grittier tones helped redefine the genre in the 2000s.

There's a lot of intrigue surrounding James Gunn's plans for his "Superman Saga," especially as his next movie won't be a straightforward Superman sequel.
Superman was released in theaters last month, while Supergirl follows next June. Gunn has already confirmed that his mysterious sequel—that's not a sequel—is likely heading our way in 2027, but it seems that's only going to be part three of four.
In a new interview, the DC Studios co-ceo pondered his wider plans for the Dcu and said in passing, "What is the long-term story I’m telling here? What is the story that I'm gonna tell about Superman over four movies?"
Gunn's approach to building a shared world is certainly very different from the MCU and a far cry from Warner Bros.' previous attempt with the Dceu. Whether he and Peter Safran will find the success they desire remains to be seen.

Superman received positive reviews and will soar beyond $600 million at the worldwide box office later this week. However, DC Studios co-ceo and filmmaker James Gunn isn't making Superman 2 next, and continues to play coy about his second big screen Dcu project.
Warner Bros. Discovery has confirmed that it's a movie in the "Super-Family," with the prevailing theory being that we're getting a Superman/Supergirl team-up. If so, Gunn must be confident in the odds of next summer's Supergirl being a crowd-pleasing hit.
During a new interview with Chris Hardwick, Gunn said, "I can say that probably the next movie we’re gonna be making is the follow-up to 'Superman,' which I don’t want to get in too much detail on, but like that’s what’s probably the next film we’re making, I think."

We may be getting a Superman sequel even faster than expected if James Gunn’s words are right!
James Gunn is flying high right now as he passed the first test of his new DC Cinematic Universe. The new Superman film, written and directed by Gunn in his first outing as the leader of DC Comics movies scored well as a hit closing in on $600 million worldwide. It also won over many critics and fans for the fine cast and action.
Obviously, this is meant as the beginning of not only a new Superman movie series but the overall new direction of DC, which faltered with lackluster finishes in 2023’s The Flash and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
The plans for the new Dcu are vast, with new takes on not just Batman and Wonder Woman, but lesser-known characters such as Metamorpho, Clayface, and others. However, a Superman sequel appears to be a priority,...

Following the passing of Terence Stamp, we consider 1999’s The Limey as perhaps his great final leading role…
1999 was a pop culture year for the late Terence Stamp, who passed away at 87 this last week. Steve Martin’s hilarious Hollywood satire Bowfinger saw him support as a self-help, Buddhism influenced guru, before Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace cemented him in the eyes of a new generation as ‘old white emperor of the universe.’

Terence Stamp, the London-born actor whose steely poise made General Zod one of cinema’s defining supervillains, died Sunday at 87. His family said he died on the morning of August 17 and asked for privacy; a death notice was also posted online. No cause was given.
Stamp’s six-decade career began with a thunderclap: an Academy Award nomination for his film debut in “Billy Budd” (1962). He won best actor at Cannes for “The Collector” (1965), then became a face of Swinging London before disappearing from view in the 1970s and reemerging with the role that would shadow him for the rest of his life—Krypton’s defiant military leader in “Superman” (1978) and “Superman II” (1980).
Across the years, he toggled between auteurs and crowd-pleasers: Pier Paolo Pasolini’s “Teorema,” Joseph Losey’s “Modesty Blaise,” John Schlesinger’s “Far from the Madding Crowd,” and Steven Soderbergh’s revenge drama “The Limey,” which restored him to late-career prominence.

Hollywood lost one of its most defining voices with the passing of Terence Stamp at age 87. Here’s the thing that’ll blow your mind: this legendary English actor didn’t just play one memorable Superman character; he played two completely opposite roles that somehow created the most fascinating character arc in superhero history.
Terence Stamp went from being the terrifying General Zod who made audiences tremble with his “kneel before Zod” command to becoming the compassionate voice of Jor-El, Superman’s Kryptonian father. Talk about a complete 180! This isn’t just actor versatility; it’s storytelling magic that proves sometimes the best plot twists happen in real life.

Terence Stamp was in danger of disappearing in the late 1970s when he landed the role of General Zod in Richard Donner's "Superman." The Kryptonian menace, who gets condemned to an eternity of misery in The Phantom Zone, exploded with a nationalistic, genocidal, Hitler-esque intensity. He believes in the racial superiority of Kryptonians and pleads with Jor-El (Marlon Brando) to commit to the preservation of their endangered race. Jor-El is a principled man who wants nothing to do with Zod's eugenicist conquest. Zod, however, assures Jor-El that should he ever break free of the Forbidden Zone, he will enslave his Kryptonian bête noire's offspring.

Celebrated British actor and comic book cinema's first supervillain Terence Stamp died Aug. 17 at age 87. Stamp's family has confirmed his passing, but has not shared additional details at press time.
Born in 1938 in the Stepney district of London's East End, Stamp rose to prominence alongside a new generation of U.K. actors who became international movie stars in the 1960s — names that included Michael Caine, Sean Connery, Oliver Reed, and Peter O'Toole. That group directly preceded Hollywood's own vanguard of rising stars like Dustin Hoffman, Al Pacino, and Robert De Niro who dominated U.S. movie screens in the 1970s.
Even amid a crowded field of talent on both sides of the pond, Stamp routinely stood out from the competition courtesy of his piercing gaze and adeptness at portraying fierce iconoclasts and outsiders dedicated to advancing their own causes — even if those causes were more villainous than virtuous.

The DC Universe, so far, has been a very fluid collaboration. Projects get announced, and then they fizzle. Other movies such as Clayface get a quick greenlight, because the right script lands on James Gunn’s desk, and then the studio is off to the races. Knowing that future plans are flexible, it’s no real surprise that Gunn just confirmed his next Dcu movie, which he wrote and will direct, is part of something he now calls The Superman Saga.

An hour-long featurette for Superman was released yesterday, and eagle-eyed fans have spotted a storyboard that may mean very little...or drop a huge clue about what's next for the Dcu's Man of Steel.
In that, we see Superman, Supergirl, and Krypto the Superdog all flying into action together, and Brainiac's unmistakable head can be glimpsed in the next shot! Filmmaker James Gunn has previously said that he considered the fan-favourite villain for Superman, meaning this could have been from a much earlier iteration of the DC Studios reboot.
Warner Bros. Discovery recently confirmed that Gunn's next Dcu movie (which he's writing and directing) will be a "Super-Family" title. The DC Studios co-ceo has repeatedly said it won't be Superman 2, and the implication seems to be that it will be a team-up project, albeit not World's Finest.

James Gunn‘s Superman brought in the big bucks at the domestic box office this weekend as it officially surpassed Zack Snyder‘s highest-grossing Dceu film, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. With $331.2 million in the bag (Box Office Mojo), Superman leaves BvS behind to bite the dust with the latter’s $330.36 million (Box Office Mojo).
Moreover, Superman‘s theatrical run is far from being over at this point. The movie has not only buried Snyder’s crown but also fended off all three MCU giants of 2025, i.e., Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts*, and Fantastic Four, to stand alone at the top – and all before hitting digital release, too.
This also marks the first time in 17 years that DC has beaten Marvel at the box office since Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Knight overshadowed Iron Man in 2008.

If you've been following Superman's box office figures, you're already aware that James Gunn's new movie has been the strong start that the Dcu has desperately needed. But, over the weekend, the film also confirmed that Gunn and Peter Safran's new DC Universe is here to stay, and that Zack Snyder's divisive Dceu is officially a thing of the past. Superman opened in theaters on July 11 and had an incredibly strong opening weekend. Starring David Corenswet as the Man of Steel, with Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Superman is the first film in the rebooted DC Universe. Superman quickly surpassed Man of Steel's (which starred Henry Cavill as Superman) domestic box office gross, but Superman has now broken another DC cinematic record.

Fun fact: my default Halloween costume has always been Lex Luthor. As a proudly bald man with several spiffy suits, it’s an easy role to pull off every year—though I’ll sometimes mix it up and go as Agent 47 from the Hitman video game. Because of this, I’ve always felt a certain kinship with “the greatest criminal mind of our time”… even if you’d never know it from watching most movie versions. That’s right—Lex Luthor on the big screen has always kind of sucked.
On TV, however, they nailed him. Michael Rosenbaum delivered the definitive portrayal on Smallville. But in films? No one has truly matched the potential of the character. Let’s take a look at each big-screen version.
Gene Hackman
I’ll start by saying I have nothing but respect for Gene Hackman as an actor—he might even be the finest actor of his generation.

Rachel Brosnahan scored another win in 2025 after Superman‘s success, as her $96 million spy thriller, The Amateur, took the top spot on Disney+. According to Flix Patrol, the Rami Malek-starrer has been on the top ten list on the streamer for the past few days, following its debut on streaming on July 17. It also topped the charts in the month, beating out movies like Captain America: Brave New World.
Brosnahan has had a great year with Superman receiving great reviews and kickstarting the Dcu. After playing short roles on Grey’s Anatomy, The Blacklist, Black Box, and Gossip Girl, Brosnahan hit it big with House of Cards and then later with The Marvellous Mrs. Maisel, which got her two Golden Globes and Emmys. She now plays Lois Lane in the Dcu.
