This series remains true to the spirit of the original with further adventures of Toad and companions. The stop motion animation is quite beautifully rendered and the production values are in every way superb. Pastoral, funny, utterly charming; adults will enjoy this as much as children. This series can be purchased as a boxed set featuring four separate videos, with stories set in each season. Those of you who have enjoyed "The Nightmare Before Christmas" and the Wallace and Gromit films have a treat in store. By the way, Peter Sallis (Wallace) provides the voice of Ratty.
As a child I ADORED The Wind in the Willows. The animation was beautiful with its picturesque scenery and realistic characters. The cast (including the likes of Sir David Jason and Peter Sallis) was fabulous and helped create a realistic world. The story lines were funny and kept true to the books whilst adding the flare of television. The stories were funny yet endearing and never over-the-top. There was just the right amount of silliness and was sometimes a little bit scary (nothing nightmareish though).
Children and adults alike will love this series, whether they are long-time fans or new.
A cherished classic, for those who love vintage animation and storytelling!!!

A nice Relaxination show. Its mellow, you learn some social lessons and the animation is nice.
It's for both children and adults. The show is very smart so iunno if children today can handle it.
What can be learned? Manners
Verdict: Very mellow in deed.

I've watched the full series for well over 10 years now and the charm hasn't worn off! Suitable for both kids and adults with some fun slapstick from Toad and some slightly more adult jokes to keep it fresh. It has a good environmental message in the fourth series without being too preachy.
All the characters are captivating, whether it be the wise badger, the straight-laced rat, the humble mole or the energetic Toad. Hats off to the voice actors, in particular Ian Carmichael for the beautiful opening narration and David Jason for the scene-stealing Toad! As well as the hilariously diabolical chief weasel.
Give it a watch, you won't be disappointed.

Absolutely love this series, I read the books, listen to the audio from greene to horwood and love the movie... When watching willows all is right with the world., each character is loveable.. Even the weasles, a beautiful show and must watch viewing for everyone... Wise old badger, innocent mole, dependable ratty, good old otter, portly, nephew, master toad, all the weasels, the narration, the casting.. Wonderful show and so well made, doesn't need a remake either.. Its perfect the way it is, currently going through the series again and it's lost none of its charm... Schools should play an episode everyday in class just so kids today can appreciate it.

- QuizDavid Jason got a letter from someone saying they saw a house on the market identical to Toad Hall three miles from Jason's house. Jason went looking for it and found it. He said it was wonderful and seemed to go on forever. It had a lake fed by its own spring. It wasn't Toad Hall, but he could imagine living in it. It was twice the value of the house he already owned. He thought about it but had to pay full price when he lost a coin toss (despite his reputation as a wheeler-dealer). But driving up to the house made him realize how much he wanted it.
