The "chase" this time sees Halicki being pursued by two hitmen and one slinky and mega-cool hitwoman with designer handguns. Much of the car crashes are obviously deliberate and lack the spontaneity of the '74 flick. However the scene wherein Halicki tosses a live grenade over his head on to the guy behind him that blasts the Chev right over Halicki's Caddy, is the one to watch for. Ive never seen better in any action movie.
Heaps of reminders of the original in terms of posters and even a premiere for GONE IN 60 SECONDS. We are even privileged to see the original "Eleanor"....the crushed and battered yellow Mach 1 from the original movie (that Halicki kept for years as his most prized possession!) It infuriated me that Nicolas Cage was permitted to use that name for his Shelby Mustang in the 2000 remake, of which the less said, the better. It could never be anything but Harlan's!
For those of you who do not know, H B Halicki died doing what he loved best in August 1989, attempting an auto stunt for a sequel to GONE IN 60 SECONDS that was never completed. Doubtless he is in his element somewhere in that great garage in the sky!

- QuizAs with many stunts-gone-wrong in his first film, Rollercar - Sessanta secondi e vai! (1974), director H.B. Halicki was almost killed several times in accidents during production. The worst involved a scene where Halicki, playing the lead Harlan Hollis, was driving towards one of the hit men's planes, and both collided head-on when pilot Tony Ostermeier misjudged the distance between them. One of the wings came through the car's windshield and hit Halicki, while the plane crashed behind him. Both escaped with relatively minor injuries, but the car Halicki was driving, a 1980 Cadillac Eldorado, was wrecked, as well as the plane, and both had to be replaced for filming to continue.
- BlooperAt the "Gone in 60 Seconds" premiere, two different movie posters of the film can be seen decorating the front of the Cinerama Dome. One is a British quad poster, that was only used in the UK when the film was released there in 1976 and was never and would never be available or used to advertise a film in the US.

Susan Clark: We go down about a mile, there's a side road that cuts through the hills - that'll take us to a Union Road, then it's straight to US101. That way, we can miss all this traffic.
Jack: Another Susan Clark Special Shortcut.
Susan Clark: Listen, this time I have a map.
Jack: Oh, got a map!
Bruce: Oh great, last time she only had a hunch.
- Versioni alternativeAll current video releases replace the entire original soundtrack, various sound effects, and strong language, as well as missing some dialogue from the female police dispatchers. They also omit a scene after the ending credits with the pig farmer sitting in the Rolls Royce at the party, looking around in dismay and saying to his pig, "Let's get out of here, Farrah. These Los Angeles people are just too weird!" before shaking his head.
