No. Although the series was originally envisioned as a show televising the stories from his "Tales of the Unexpected" and "More Tales of the Unexpected" short story books, the popularity of the show led to stories from other authors being used. Actually the above is only partially true. As the series went on, Anglia Television in the UK wanted to drop it after several years due to the cost and waning interest. However the series had proven a success on syndication in the US and when Anglia said they were going to stop making new episodes an American production team wanted to carry on making them so a deal was brokered where production carried on in the US for several more years under the same title but without UK input. The US made episodes were still shown in the UK but by then the showing times were down to the local ITV broadcaster rather than a nationwide time spot (and some ITV broadcasters dropped the show altogether by then).
