There's a new No. 2 on Apple TV+. Echo Valley, the new Ridley Scott-produced thriller starring Sydney Sweeney and Julianne Moore, has been kicked to third place by the new sci-fi series Murderbot.

Per FlixPatrol, Murderbot has jumped up three spots on Apple TV+'s Top 10 Overall list to No. 2, knocking Echo Valley down one spot to No. 3. However, Murderbot was unable to dethrone the reigning champion, Stick, the new Owen Wilson sports comedy series about a washed-up pro who turns to a young gifted golfer to turn his life around, which is holding onto that No. 1 spot. Of course, Echo Valley is still No. 1 when it comes to just movies on Apple TV+, while Stick and Murderbot are No. 1 and No. 2 for TV shows.

Murderbot is based on Martha Wells' The Murderbot Diaries, with the first season adapting All Systems Red, the 2017 novella that kicked off the sci-fi series.

Sydney Sweeney is sharing the “crazy” transformation and preparation that went into portraying pioneering female boxer Christy Martin in a new biopic set for release later this year.

Speaking to W Magazine for the actress’ new cover story, the film’s director David Michôd said the Emmy-nominated Euphoria star gained more than 30 pounds to play the athlete, who put female boxing on the map in the ’90s, covered Sports Illustrated and fought on Mike Tyson’s undercard.

Sydney Sweeney's video game movie with Wicked director Jon M. Chu, Split Fiction, has been won in a bidding war, with the first details reportedly revealed. A new Sydney Sweeney movie is on the horizon. Lionsgate has just released the first trailer for Americana, a comedic crime thriller that boasts an ensemble comprised of several recognizable (and talented) actors.

More than two years after its world premiere at South by Southwest, and just over a year after Lionsgate acquired it, Americana is finally gearing up to be released to the public later this year. The first trailer perfectly establishes what this modern-day western will be about, introducing an assortment of colorful characters who are all out to gain possession of a rare Native American artifact. Joining Sweeney as co-lead of Americana is Paul Walter Hauser, who audiences will see in theaters before this movie arrives in the highly anticipated The Fantastic Four: First Steps. A new remake of the 1968 sci-fi film Barbarella will be coming to screens soon courtesy of Sony Pictures with writer Jane Goldman attached to the project. The project will see A-list actress, Sydney Sweeney, attached to star in the upcoming remake. The project is based on the French comic book of the same name, but actual details surrounding the upcoming project remain largely vague and very thin. Sweeney was brought on as the project's leading star and an executive producer in 2022, and production has stalled somewhat in the three years since. Despite the slow pace and years of silence, Sweeney has revealed that Barbarella's development is still pressing on.

"I was just in London and had a meeting to discuss the story and the script," Sweeney revealed in a recent conversation. "I can't say too much, but it's really going to come together in a very, very fun and big way.

The critical and commercial success of movies like Anyone But You and Immaculate meant it was easy for Sydney Sweeney to shrug off Madame Web. She's also confessed that starring in the Marvel movie was a means to an end when it came to strengthening her relationship with Sony Pictures.

Edgar Wright's Barbarella remake is one of many projects Sweeney is attached to as her star in Hollywood continues to rise (both as an actor and producer). However, it's been three years since we first learned the movie was in development.

Despite three years of relative silence on its production, Sydney Sweeney has addressed the current status of her remake of a cult-classic sci-fi movie with an optimistic update. Following smaller parts in The Handmaid's Tale, Sharp Objects, and Once Upon Time In Hollywood, Sweeney's breakout role came in the HBO teen drama Euphoria. A “lost” 1976 Motörhead album titled The Manticore Tapes will see the light of day on June 27th, featuring the classic lineup of Lemmy Kilmister (bass/vocals), Fast Eddie Clarke (guitar) and Phil ‘Philthy Animal’ Taylor (drums).

According to a press release, “In August 1976 the band set up at Emerson, Lake & Palmer’s legendary Manticore Studio in Fulham to rehearse and showcase the new lineup. While they were there they recorded together for the very first time and now, forty nine years later, this long lost tape has surfaced, been dusted off and restored in all its raw glory, to celebrate the seminal hard rock bands 50th anniversary.”

The recording was originally captured by Ron Faucus, and recently restored by longtime Motörhead collaborator Cameron Webb at Maple Studios in California and mastered by Andrew Alekel at Bolskine House in Los Angeles.

The LP contains 11 tracks, including tunes that the band would go on to play live.

Split Fiction, one of this year's hottest new video games, is coming to the big screen. Sydney Sweeney is attached to the new project, making it the second video game adaptation she's signed on for in recent weeks. Variety reports that Wicked helmer Jon M. Chu will direct the fantasy-science fiction adventure. The game, which was released in March, follows two authors, Mio Hudson and Zoe Foster, who participate in a test of a new simulation device that allows them to enter their own stories.

A glitch puts Mio and Zoe into the same simulation, and they have to travel through a dangerous blend of Mio's science fiction story with Zoe's fantasy epic before they travel deep into their own psyches to face their buried traumas. A new report from Deadline has revealed that Universal is looking to capitalize on the wave of popular video game movies such as Minecraft, and the ever-present love of nostalgia among moviegoers by tapping Bay to direct and produce a big-screen version of Sega’s 1986 racing game, Outrun.

Seemingly along for the ride will be Sydney Sweeney, the epitome of the kind of blonde bombshell that graced the cover of the video game when it was released. Toru Nakahara will produce for Sega and Sega Corporation president/COO Shuji Utsumi will oversee the project on behalf of Sega. Polar and Arachnid scribe Jayson Rothwell is penning the script, but the story is currently being kept under wraps. It’s a racing game.

Michael Bay and Sydney Sweeney are teaming up to take on a video game adaptation. Universal Pictures will be the studio backing the project, and Bay is set to direct with Sweeney on board to produce.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Bay and Sweeney are collaborating on a feature film adaptation of the Sega video game franchise OutRun. In addition to directing, Bay will also serve as a producer alongside Brad Fuller through a first-look deal with Platinum Dunes and the studio. Toru Nakahara will also be producing for Sega, and Sega Corporation president Shuji Utsumi will oversee the film. Matt Reilly and Ryan Jones will also be overseeing for Universal.

As of now, no plot details have been revealed, and no cast members have yet been named to star. Sweeney's involvement at this point is as a producer, and there's no indication just yet that she will also have a role in the film.

Painter and illustrator Robert E. McGinnis, who created sexy posters for the James Bond franchise as well as numerous other films, magazine illustrations and book covers, died March 10 in Old Greenwich, Conn. He was 99.

McGinnis, whose death was posted on Legacy.com, was known for his swinging sixties pin-up girl-style images of bikini-clad women consorting with manly men. Models including Shere Hite, author of “The Hite Report,” modeled for the idealized figure that became known as “The McGinnis Woman.”

His first movie poster was for “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” featuring the illustration of Audrey Hepburn smoking a cigarette in a long holder with her cat wrapped around her neck. King, the co-creator/EP of Lanterns and whose comic book work is the basis for WandaVision and the upcoming Craig Gillespie-directed Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, co-created the Love Everlasting comic series with illustrator Elsa Charretier. It is described as a mix of Groundhog Day and Quantum Leap with sci-fi and horror elements.

The protagonist is Joan Peterson, a heroine who begins in the mold of how women often are portrayed in romance comics: with the major goal to fall in love. Only here, each time she reaches that plateau, Joan finds herself abruptly shifted into a new time period and setting with new obstacles...

Jane Fonda may be 87, but she’s not about to slow down any time soon.

Sydney Sweeney looks set to continue widening her scope in Hollywood as she's set to star in an upcoming Edgar Allan Poe adaptation. The 27-year-old actor is in talks to feature in the "darkly comedic" A24 flick, The Masque of the Red Death.

According to Deadline, A24 has been eyeing Sweeney for the lead role in The Masque of the Red Death, a "revisionist" take on the eponymous Poe short story. The Plague helmer Charlie Polinger will direct the project and pen its screenplay, with A24 handling domestic distribution. Details regarding The Masque of the Red Death are being withheld. However, the short story chronicles a prince who tries to avoid a deadly plague known as the Red Death by hiding in his abbey.

Iconic pop culture character Barbarella is set to return in a new series from Dynamite Entertainment, which will offer a dose of metahumor, as the creative team seeks to elevate the character for a new generation of fans, all while sending the space hero on a classic "heroes' journey," as the preview for the debut issue makes clear.

As reported by Aipt Comics, the character returns in Barbarella #1 written by Blake Northcott, with art by Anna Morozova and will quickly be propelled on an all-new adventure. The book promises a fresh take on the character, who was originally developed as a pulp hero in the early 1960s, and quickly became a cult favorite on-screen several years later.

The preview for the issue emphasizes how this new iteration of Barbarella will provide commentary on the sci-fi and action genre as a whole, as well as both paying homage to and lampooning the origins of the character.
