Memento International is launching sales of Guillaume Nicloux’s The Divine Sarah Bernhardt starring Sandrine Kiberlain as the titular French stage actresss at Unifrance’s upcoming Rendez-Vous with French Cinema in Paris (January 16-23).

The film is now shooting in France. Produced by Les Films du Kiosque with Bac Films, the romantic biopic will portray the artist and actress renowned for her audacious personality and stage performances. It is based on a script by Nathalie Leuthreau.

TF1 Films Production and Belgium’s Umedia are also co-producing.

Just in time for Monday’s Emmy awards, the USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative and Dr. Stacy L. Smith, along with the the Adobe Foundation, have unveiled The Inclusion List for episodic programming, which recognizes the most inclusive series in broadcast, cable and streaming.

Following a similar effort for films, the list analyzes on-screen and behind-the-camera personnel from more than 500 programs to determine the 100 most inclusive broadcast and cable series from the 2021-22 broadcast season, as well as streaming series from 2021 to 2023. The project also recognizes 20 producers responsible for the most inclusive content.

“The goal of the Inclusion List is to recognize the stories and storytellers who are taking inclusion seriously and whose content reflects their values,” said Dr. Smith, founder of the Annenberg Inclusion Initiative. “With today’s release of the Inclusion List for broadcast/cable and streaming series, we are excited to acknowledge the creative voices championing inclusion across the spectrum of episodic content.

The transatlantic outfit’s turnover grew by a mammoth 273% to $134M for full-year 2022, according to a Companies House filing seen by Deadline, as the outfit shook off the shackles of the Covid-19 pandemic and delivered a number of high-profile projects. The vast majority of the revenue came from TV shows.

Sister’s filing pointed to “the realisation of a pipeline of projects and recovery from the delays to the production schedule of programmes caused by the Covid-19 pandemic” as a driver of revenue growth. Big shows delivered in the year included BAFTA-winning BBC drama This is Going to Hurt, The Split Season 3 and HBO/Sky’s The Baby.

HBO has reportedly ended its partnership with India’s Disney+ Hotstar streaming platform.

Hit shows like The Last of Us, Succession,Entourageand House of the Dragon will soon be leaving the streaming service.

“Starting 31st March, HBO content will be unavailable on Disney+ Hotstar,” the streaming service announced in a statement earlier this month.

“You can continue enjoying Disney+ Hotstar’s vast library of content spanning over 100,000 hours of TV Shows and Movies in 10 languages and coverage of major global sporting events.”

Fantasia 2021 premiere Hellbender starring Zelda Adams, Lulu Adams and Toby Poser has gone to I-On New Media for German-speaking Europe, Kinologistika for Cis and Baltics, Mi Media International for Malaysia and streaming platform Vivarto for Poland. Selma Vilhunen has wrapped shooting on her new feature, Four Little Adults. The film stars Alma Pöysti (Tove), Eero Milonoff, and Oona Airola and Pietu Wikström, who both appear in Sundance and Berlinale 2022 selection Girl Picture.

French TV festival and industry meeting unveils 2022 selection

Michael Hirst’s Billy The Kid, Channel 4 drama The Birth Of Daniel F Harris and HBO’sThe Baby are among nine dramas selected for the international competition of Series Mania TV festival, running March 18-25 in the northern French city of Lille.

The Birth Of Daniel F Harris is produced by the UK’s Clerkenwell Films, the company behind The End Of The F**king World. Lewis Gribben plays a young man who was locked away as a child by his father following the death of his mother as a child.

Series Mania has unveiled the nine shows from six countries competing for the prestigious International Competition along with revealing the lineup and Guests of Honor for this year’s edition, the first to take place in person for three years.

Only six months after its 2021 edition, Series Mania will be back with a sprawling selection, including the world premieres of Michael Hirst’s “Billy The Kid” (pictured), the Israeli series “Fire Dance” and rap-music-themed French show “Le monde de demain.”

Underscoring the large presence of streamers within the roster, Series Mania will kick off with Netflix’s “Standing Up,” a new comedy series from “Call My Agent” creator and showrunner Fanny Herrero; while Disney Plus’ “Oussekine,” about a tragic case of police brutality in France, will close the festival.

The lineup boasts 58 series spanning from 21 countries. These were chosen from 331 series. Sister has signed a first-look TV deal with producer, writer, and director Tobias Lindholm.

Lindholm has already set up his first project for development under the deal — the limited series “The Best of Us,” with “Succession” star Jeremy Strong attached to star.

“We are fortunate to have Jeremy as a partner with Tobias on ‘The Best of Us;’ and we look forward to their thoughtful and human depiction of those heroes that serve on the frontlines for the greater good,” said Sister’s Stacey Snider.

Strong has been developing “The Best of Us” with Lindholm for some time and will executive produce in addition to starring. The series is also being developed with journalist and author Chris Smith, who will serve as consulting producer. Lindholm is writing, directing, and executive producing.
