A very free rendition indirectly based on the classic novel written by Johnston MacCulley . It starts with the majestic Queen of England : Victoria of Hannover who to be aware the island of Hamilton in The Bermudas happens a rebellion against the governor , she then sends a superintendent : Franco Ressell to control the happenings. Here Zorro is really the seducer land owner Pedro Suárez: Spyros Focas and the damsel in distress is called Patrizia : Carol Wells who results to be niece of the supervising authority . As she is coerced to marry the nasty governor : Daniele Vargas who governs tyrannically the island of Hamilton .

Entertaining Zorro movie with frantic action , intrigue , swashbuckling , romance, upheaval and a large number of crosswords . A light and meidium budger Zorro in Spaghetti style , retelling the legendary role, and partially based on the regular Canon. Here Zorro is amusingly played by Spyros Focas as the relentless hero of the opresed citizens , while relishing his secret identity in black mask , cape and sword . Accompanied by an attractive support cast with plenty of secondaries usual in Italan B-genres , such as Daniele Vargas , Franco Ressel, Spartaco Conversi , Attliio Dottesio and Franco Fantasía . Colorful cinematography by Augusto Tizzio shot on location in Ronciglione , Viterbo, Lazio , Italy , though these landscapes nothing to do with the island od Hamilton in the sunny Bermudas . Thrilling and moving musical score by Angelo Francesco Lavagnino , including Spanish/Mexican sounds . The film financed by Fortunato Misiano who produced Zorro the Navarra Marquis and was professionally directed by Franco Montemurro.

Zorro has been portrayed by many, most of whom were more charismatic than this guy. There's some dissonance with the century-long body of celluloid on this hero, as well. An Italian-speaking cast is playing Spanish inhabitants of a British colony. How did that happen? And despite the title, Zorro don't go nowheres near to England, much less play The Palace. There is a role for Queen Victoria, though the actress portraying her is a polar opposite to that historical figure on the pulchritude scale, with no apparent reason in the plot for that aesthetic upgrade.

Otherwise, this is a reasonably competent flick, with enough action and comic relief to keep the package entertaining. Just don't expect Spyros Focas to unseat your own favorite(s) among the many actors who've sported the outfit and wielded the sword to graffiti their foes with Zs. Not bloody (since England is involved) likely.
