The 45th President was wrapping up a lengthy bit about Whirlpool washing machines and America’s great water pressure crisis when he remembered he needed to talk about J.D. Vance.

Alex Somers has revealed two solo debut albums — Siblings and Siblings 2 — out March 19th via Krunk.
Ahead of the release, the producer and Jónsi collaborator dropped lead singles from each LP, “Deathbed” and “Sooner.” The tracks are both instrumental, with “Deathbed” containing deep, billowing exhales and “Sooner” taking a lighter cinematic approach.
While making both LPs, Somers was particularly inspired by his score for the 2016 documentary Dawson City: Frozen in Time. “It’s such a poetic story,” he said in a statement “And it’s so in sync with how...

Arrow Video continues to reconstitute the filmography of Spanish genre filmmaker Jose Ramon Larraz with his final English language thriller, Deadly Manor (originally released on VHS as Savage Lust), the final in a triptych of slasher films set in the Us (but filmed in Spain) in the late 1980s to early 1990s. Following on the heels of the label’s glorious box set of his earlier works, plus his 1988 title Edge of the Axe (released under his pseudonym Joseph Braunstein), this final thriller from the underrated director is decidedly dull and derivative affair, borrowing heavily from a variety of classics, everything from The Old Dark House (1932) to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974).…...

To celebrate the release of Deadly Manor - available on Blu-ray 17th February from Arrow Video – we have a copy up for grabs!
An old, dark house… A maniac on the loose… An orgy of bloodlust! All the hallmarks of late master of Spanish macabre José Ramón Larraz are present and correct in 1990’s Deadly Manor – the final horror movie from one of the genre’s most unheralded filmmakers.
Whilst en route to a lake, a group of youngsters make an unscheduled stop-off at a remote, seemingly abandoned mansion where they plan to spend the night. But the property is full of foreboding signs – a blood-stained car wreck in the garden, coffins in the basement, scalps in the closet, and photographs of a beautiful but mysterious woman adorning every corner of the house. Before daybreak, the group will unwittingly uncover the strange and terrifying truth that lurks behind the walls of this dreadful place.

Here’s another installment featuring Joe Dante’s reviews from his stint as a critic for Film Bulletin circa 1969-1974. Our thanks to Video Watchdog and Tim Lucas for his editorial embellishments!
Heavy sex elements will help sell this crude, inept Danish import to the undiscriminating in ballyhoo situations. Makes up in obvious exploitation values what it lacks in quality and suspense. Rating: X.
Cinemation Industries’ promotion for Whirlpool claims the Danish import is “more shocking than Psycho, more sensual than Repulsion, more nerve‑ripping than Baby Jane.” Although none of this happens to be true, the picture is far dirtier than any of the above, and this—combined with arresting hard‑sell ad approach—will make it a money picture for all types of ballyhoo houses and drive‑ins catering to less discriminating, voyeuristic thrill‑seekers. The sex stuff, both straight and “bi,” is extensive, detailed and horny enough...
