How did the veterans of the post-war USSR rebuild or One of the best Soviet films of its era

Drama. A wonderful Soviet painting that is almost never shown on the "box", which has very few reviews, and which the author of this review came across by accident. And since Soviet cinema is almost always a masterpiece or at least a good and high-quality work, it didn't take long to watch. And the viewing was worth it. This is a great movie about great people that every modern inhabitant of Russia and the former Soviet republics needs to watch so that "their heads fall into place" and we stop fighting with each other over a handful of capitalists who have occupied high offices and are now only trying to grab more for themselves and leave people with their noses. But we digress. The picture is wonderful, and here is a brief opinion - One of the best Soviet films of its era. There are no flaws in the picture, but there is one point that should be mentioned in a separate paragraph, but for now we should focus on the advantages of this masterpiece of Soviet cinema.

So, here they are: 1. The scenario - the picture tells about four front-line soldiers: Major Kornev, Sergeant Samoseev, senior Lieutenant Rudnikov and Lieutenant Mukhtarova, who, having defeated the fascist beast in its lair, return home in order to return to a peaceful life and restore the national economy of the country, destroyed and plundered by fascist beasts during the Great Patriotic War. Each of the heroes returns to his native penates, where his loved ones are waiting for him, and where he is required to mobilize new forces for new victories, but already in the field of peaceful life. They will face harsh trials and difficult tasks, but together with the heroes of the picture, we believe that they can do anything, because if they managed to defeat the fascist hydra, then they will definitely cope with such a task as rebuilding the country. The party and society will help them in this, because socialism has proved in practice that it is better than capitalism. The ending is a little predictable, but that doesn't make it any less wonderful. The characters' characters are well written out, because the picture had three talented screenwriters, the dialogues were perfectly staged, the ideology is in place and fits perfectly, and it helps a lot in rebuilding the country. Moreover, they will show us our whole great country, from the Arctic to Central Asia, and from the frames of the work of grandiose machines, happiness begins to involuntarily develop in the soul, and this, believe me, is worth a lot. And the picture makes an optimistic forecast for the future, which, alas, did not happen, because in 1953 everything began to roll to a certain place.

    2. The characters are both main and secondary. After all, they are all ordinary people who have done the impossible, but modesty and Soviet upbringing did not allow them to get lost (most of them were definitely not affected), and after returning to civilian life, they quickly adapted and returned to the jobs they worked in before the war. And everyone around them respects the returned veterans, because ordinary people who worked in the rear during the war did no less for victory than our heroic fighters and commanders. The actors played great, you believe them, you worry about them, you see that these are ordinary people who deserve to win. Nikolai Kryuchkov, Boris Chirkov (who is unrecognizable here, especially judging by his most iconic role as Maxim in the famous trilogy), Tamara Makarova, Yuri Lyubimov, Klara Luchko, Alexander Khvylya and others are just smart here! They don't make such actors anymore!

    3. Hope - it runs through the whole picture as a leitmotif, because our people rebuilt the country not for themselves, but for their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who should have already lived in communism, the best and most humane socio-economic system. For this, the characters of the picture fought in the war, for this they took the most desperate risks, for this they denied themselves many things, for this they engaged in self-improvement, tried to get rid of the concept of "I, everything to me, I want everything to myself, and I don't care about the rest." The common good, the common happiness, was important to them.

Now, what raises the question, namely, how did Rudnikov and Kornev meet with their lovers? After all, it wasn't really shown in the picture. Maybe the fact is that the author of this review came across a castrated version, from which more than ten minutes were cut out. Maybe they had it all in them?

It is even surprising that the painting has survived to us, because in many shots and speeches of the characters there is Stalin. And we should also thank those people who improved this neutered version as soon as they could (they tightened the picture and colored it better), so that we, the viewers of another generation, could enjoy this picture.

Yes, in real life, everything was not as beautiful as it is shown and told in the picture, but does this make the picture bad? She praises ordinary Soviet people, unlike, let's choose the mildest word, the film product that is now being shot by Russian directors with the money of capitalist producers and thieves. It's better to see this Soviet masterpiece than all modern creations.

A 10 out of 10 rating and a recommendation for viewing!
